Summary
“Eddie—” He exhales, his hand sliding into Eddie’s hair to tug helplessly at the strands. Even he knows he’s not trying to pull Eddie away, just grasping at something to attempt to ground himself. He’s trying to still stay in some sort of control—doesn’t want to roll over onto his back, tummy up and submissive like Eddie seems to be aiming for. Eddie can’t fuck the anger and jealousy out of him, but it sure seems like he’s gonna try. “You’re like a vampire, man, fuck—”
In response, Eddie bites down harder, the movement punctuated by two sharp canines as they dig into the flesh of his throat. Buck whines, his free hand gripping at whatever he can reach—Eddie’s side, his arm, his shoulder. Eddie lets up, laughing against the skin of his neck.
“Doesn’t sound like you’re complaining, Buckley.” He kisses over the mark, open-mouthed and lingering.

Summary
It had been an annoyingly busy day. Busy and frustrating because of the new guy and everyone still razzing him about Abby ghosting him. So it took him a minute to register that the apartment wasn’t empty. There was a half drunk wine glass on the counter and women’s clothes strewn on the bed. Anxiety spiked and Buck grabbed a few of his things and rushed back out as quietly as he could. He’d thought the catfisher shit had been dealt with, but clearly it hadn’t if someone was in Abby’s apartment. Abby didn’t have sisters, and her nieces were too young to drink let alone have bras. He got in the jeep, his hands only slightly shaky as he tried to figure out where to go next. He did the only thing he could think of and called Bobby. Except he didn’t answer, so he tried Hen and then Chimney, all going to voicemail.
Or
Buck is still struggling with anxiety about the catfisher months after the ordeal and doesn't trust who might be in his apartment when he gets home. Instead of walking in and figuring out who it is, he bolts. Athena Grant doesn't let him feel anxious or stressed, taking him home to make him sleep on the couch so he feels safe. She gives some really great advice, actually.

One who notices the scar Buck now has from an emergency tracheotomy that no one he works with knows about. Bobby hassled him about putting someone down that he didn't work with, so Buck had used one of his old roommates. Eddie Diaz just had to come along and point it out.

Summary
Buck doesn’t have an emergency contact. Maddie's not here, and his parents have never cared. Connor? No go. Abby? He's known her a few weeks, so no.
Buck supposes that putting a random number wasn't a good idea. He had initially considered putting Bobby down but he didn’t want to be a nuisance. They’ve gotten closer, sure, Bobby calls him kid, Buck called him pops once, they went to a Springsteen concert together but Bobby’s his boss. So what did he do?
He just opened the Los Angeles phonebook he found at a phonebooth, opened it at a random page, put his finger at a random line, and put those random numbers down.
Enter: Eddie Diaz, Emergency Contact Extraordinaire

“We said we wouldn’t do this.”
“This what?” she asked.
“This. You know what I’m talking about, Athena – ”
“ – maybe you should spell it out.”In the show, I think it's referenced that it's only a couple days between the fight and the apology. Here, it's been a week, and Bobby and Athena are growing farther apart.
Will one of them take a first step towards the other?
Will it be too late?

“Okay. That is a beautiful woman,” Hen interrupts.
“Where’s the lie,” Chim murmurs.
Stephanie turns, and it’s like the world slows down to a crawl. That’s… There’s no way. But those scars don’t lie. Those are scars that Stephanie used to know like the back of her hand, there’s just. No way.
“Cassandra Cain, new recruit,” Steph thinks she hears Bobby say. Nothing is processing past the blood roaring in her ears.

Summary
“9-1-1, what’s your emergency?”
“Hello?” He rambled off the address and apartment number before saying, “This is Firefighter Evan Buckley. I just got home, and I have a stabbing victim here. The victim is a thirty-five-year-old woman named Maddie Kendall; there are signs of domestic violence, severe bruising to her face and neck, traumatic head injury, multiple stab wounds that are bleeding fast, and possibly a few broken ribs; breathing is extremely labored, and there might possibly be a need for tracheotomy! There’s another man here, her husband, Doug Kendall; he’s bleeding from multiple stab wounds to the throat, shoulder, and stomach. Send engine 118 and Sergeant Athena Grant immediately!”

“You died during surgery. After the shooting. Your heart stopped. Twice.” Buck mumbled.
“I didn’t tell you that, how do you know that?” Eddie questioned.
“The first time it happened, I thought it was a fluke. That I was seeing things. The second time it happened I realized what it meant.” Buck started, he could see Eddie raising an eyebrow at him in confusion. “That you were my soulmate.”

Summary
"Where's the lie? And I like girls."
Buck turns around, and he nearly damn falls over from shock, because standing right there, just a few steps away is Edmundo Diaz, the man Buck's been obsessing over for the better part of his adult life. Hell, he's the one that dubbed him Buck."I thought you were dead." And he knows he sounds angry, no, he is angry, downright pissed, but he also is just hurt, because he really thought so.
Aka my take on the classic met-in-service au, alternatively titled 'Remember our weirdly homoerotic friendship? I think it was love'

Summary
“I think Abby broke up with me.”
Buck can tell that it uses a lot of Hen’s self control to not say what’s on her mind by the way she’s quiet for a long time before saying, “Oh?” in a tone that is very neutral and not at all giving any judgement away.
“And also, I think I might be gay.”
“Oh."or: eddie kisses buck after they get drinks together post leg grenade. they both react completely rationally.

Summary
Buck has unexpected tension with the new probie. It ends like you'd expect (on AO3).
Excerpt:
When Eddie asked if anyone was hungry and cocked an eyebrow at him, Buck thought they might be on the same page. He'd eagerly agreed and found himself following Eddie home like a needy puppy at the end of their shift.Sure, sleeping with his co-worker wasn't the best idea Buck had ever had, but he figured they could get it out of their systems and settle into a productive work partnership. He knew he wasn't going to be able to think clearly around the man until he'd tasted him. And it's not like any of his hookups wanted to keep him around afterward.
