Later that night Naruto was blushing on the bus as the pair were now heading back to Sasuke’s apartment. His face was red and embarrassed as he remembered what he blurted to Sasuke’s friends during their time out, “I can’t believe I fucking said that shit out loud.. Why didn’t you stop me Sasuke!?”
Sasuke who also looks embarrassed, “I fucking tried! I didn’t think you would be that vulgar!”
Naruto sighs, “I’m sorry… I made a fool out of myself.” He drops his head in shame.
Sasuke chuckles shaking his head before he ruffles Naruto’s hair, “You were fine. You weren’t the only drunk idiot in that club tonight.”
Naruto smiles leaning back, “They’re nice. I’m glad you have friends like that. I can see why you like them.”
Sasuke rolls his eyes, “They’re parasites aside from Jugo.”
Naruto chuckles as he sips his bottled water he got from a vending machine before they left, “Would you like to meet the rest of my friends?”
Sasuke raises a brow, “I met Haruno and Nara already.”
Naruto chuckles, “That’s not everyone though.”
The beta looks lost in thought before answering, “Maybe. You may have anxiety with people but I kind of avoid people on purpose. I always leave a bad first impression. I mean you remember how my first encounter with Haruno went.
Naruto laughs, “That was her giving you a hard time because you’re my mate.”
Sasuke raises a brow, “Will they all give me a hard time because were mates?”
Naruto shrugs, “Maybe but it’ll mostly be geared towards me.”
Sasuke sighs, “I’ll think about it.”
Naruto leans towards Sasuke mischievous grin on his face, “What if I give you an amazing blow job?”
Sasuke looks at him suspiciously, “Are you trying to use sex as a bribe alpha?”
Naruto leans on his shoulder kissing his neck, “Is it working beta?”
Sasuke smirks his grip on Naruto’s thigh tightens, “A little.”
Naruto smiles tracing a circle along Sasuke’s thigh seductively, “How about I ride you like a wild horse?”
Sasuke hisses his hand is now squeezing the alpha’s thigh as Naruto riles him up more. He growls out, “Naruto we’re on a public bus…”
The blond alpha chuckles when he sees Sasuke’s bulge growing in his pants. He laughs laying off not wanting to mess with Sasuke too much while they were surrounded by strangers in a bus. He sits back, “So yes or no?”
Sasuke rolls his eyes before he smirks, “Give me a time and place next weekend and I’ll think about it.”
Naruto smiles cheering, “Thank you!”
Sasuke simply rolls his eyes before the two drove home so Naruto could make good on his promise.
Naruto and Sasuke just left the train station now walking towards the designated meeting spot. They were going to meet at Choji’s restaurant. The chubby beta man made sure have it closed off to everyone but their group of friends. Almost everyone made time to meet there. No way Kiba was going to miss out on meeting Sasuke after the crazy way he found out. Ino was on her own schedule especially after taking time off from her pregnancy so of course she would be there. Hinata had just graduated early so she had free time to meet up. Sakura wasn’t able to come because of her hectic schedule, she would be sure to torture Naruto for the details of the event later. Sai needed to meet the famous beta that was able to win over Naruto and was ordered by Sakura to show off is odd personality to the Uchiha man. Shikamaru also wanted to come for free drinks and food. Lee, a beta, who came down from his dojo training the man has been busy with, he was currently on break and wanted the chance to see everyone. Neji, Hinata’s alpha cousin, was far too busy helping with their family business. Naruto remembers Sasuke mentioning how he was familiar with Hinata’s family crest because they were actually involved in the tech world and the Uchiha family company worked with the Hyuuga branch for almost ten years now. Neji’s beta mate Tenten, who worked as a black smith, would come by in Neji’s stead along with Lee since the three of them were childhood friends.
They were both walking along the sidewalk Naruto smiles as he has his hands in his pockets, “I’m surprised of the turnout. Usually everyone is busy with something this time of year.”
Sasuke huffs as he slides his hand inside Naruto’s back pocket pulling him closer as he talks against his ear, “I can’t imagine why so many people would come a last-minute gathering for their close friend and his mate.” The sarcasm was almost obnoxious.
Naruto rolls his eyes leaning back against his mate laying his head along his shoulder, “Maybe I was excited asking everyone to attend.”
Sasuke sighs before he moves away crossing his arms, “For someone with a lot of social baggage you tend to attract a lot of people.”
Naruto blushes but smiles as he looks down, “Well I guess I just always felt like I owed it to them for dealing with my issues for most of my life so, I’m happy that they’ve stuck around even after high school. “
Sasuke tilts his head curiosity, “Is Sakura you’re only friend from elementary school?”
Naruto looks up in thought, “I mean technically yes. I did play with Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba when I was really little, but it was just normal games we would play as kids. Once we were done we would go our separate ways. I was all over Sakura back then because of my crush on her.”
Naruto couldn’t help but feel the jealous tension coming from his mate. He smiles nuzzling his neck to help comfort his insecure beta.
“But after the incident she was the only one that was able to help me out of my darkness.” Naruto explains
Sasuke kisses his forehead, “Then despite my gripes with that woman I’m grateful she protected you.”
Naruto smiles brightly he looks up noticing the certain logo, “Ah we’re here!” He leads Sasuke to the back door since the front door was locked up for the night. This wasn’t the first time Choji has closed down the restaurant, so he knows exactly how to get inside without anyone else noticing.
After the two walked through the kitchen the blond alpha noticed him and Sasuke were the were some of the last ones to arrive. He looked around and saw Shikamaru was still late as well. He’ll ask Kiba about their roommate’s whereabouts if he doesn’t appear any sooner.
Naruto first leads Sasuke towards Choji and Ino since they were hosting the gathering.
“Sasuke this is Choji and Ino, Choji’s family runs this restaurant and he’s in charge of it now and this is Ino Choji’s mate. She runs her family’s flower shop not that far from here.” Naruto motioned to both of them.
Sasuke nod acknowledging the pair.
Ino giggles elbowing Naruto’s rib’s, “Look at you bringing a hottie like this around. You’re lucky I’m happily married and in love with my mate or I would have stolen him.”
Naruto couldn’t help but growl at Ino possessively, “In your dreams Yamanaka! You’d be lucky if I let you close enough to try.” He knew she was joking but the thought of anyone trying to steal Sasuke from him always rubbed the alpha the wrong way.
Choji sighs before bowing towards the Uchiha beta, “Nice to meet you Uchiha, don’t mind my mate. She’s a little unfiltered thanks to her hormones.”
Ino winks at Sasuke, “It’s really nice to meet you Sasuke!” she giggles.
Naruto growls pulling Sasuke away from the feisty omega before she makes things awkward. He leads his mate towards his roommate Kiba who was drinking along with Sai closer to the kitchen.
Kiba cheers sounding a little tipsy already patting Naruto’s back hard, “’Bout time! The man of the hour finally showing up.”
Naruto sighs, “Our train was late dog breath.”
Kiba waves his hand up and down dismissing Naruto’s explanation, “Excuses.” He walks over to Sasuke who did his best to blend in with the scenery. Naruto can imagine his mate’s hesitance meeting these two since Naruto didn’t do a lot to sing their praises since he always vented how much Kiba annoyed him sometimes and how much of a freak Sakura’s mate was when it came to his social skills.
But unfortunately for Sasuke there was no escaping the two men’s attention.
Kiba waves towards the Uchiha, “Yo! You must be the elusive mate this assholes been hiding.”
Naruto rolls his eyes at the insult. Of course Kiba was still holding a childish grudge from being one of the last to know.
Sai looks to Sasuke before he opens his mouth, “Sakura’s right he does look like a stoic bastard.”
The blond sighs knowing full well Sakura trained her mate to be extra annoying tonight. Sasuke looked anything but amused. “The tan one with the ugly mug is my roommate Kiba and the guy with pale skin and a shitty mouth is Sai, Sakura’s mate.”
Sasuke simply stares at them with a guarded look.
Kiba wraps his arm around Naruto’s neck giving him a noogie, “You have the balls to insult me after everything!”
Naruto easily escapes the hold pulling the dog loving alpha into a chokehold, “Fuck off. You’ve been going on and on about this shit all week!”
Kiba was having a tougher time trying to escape patting Naruto’s forearm trying to signal his lack of air.
Sasuke stares at them unamused while Sai walks up next to Sasuke observing him before he blurts out, “Sakura says you top Naruto. Do alphas men feel better than beta women?”
The taller Beta looks at him annoyed Naruto decided he wanted to see how Sasuke handled the illusive awkward creature that was dubbed Sai. As he was watching the rare exchange Kiba passes out as Naruto loosens his grip now holding him up until Kiba comes to.
Sasuke looks at him blankly like he was an idiot before turning away. Not bothering to answer.
Ino takes notice of the rare moment pulls up next to Naruto and a still unconscious Kiba in the blond alpha’s arm, “Okay he’s going with the ignoring approach. Interesting.”
Naruto uses his free hand to rub his chin, “Think the last one to use that move was Neji.”
Sai continues, “Or is it because assholes are typically tighter than vaginas? So that’s why it feels better?”
The audience cringes as Sasuke steps aside putting up a social wall with his dark aura surrounding him as he crosses his arms.
Kiba wakes up still in Naruto’s arm looking at the scene intrigued, “Oh he doubled down! I haven’t seen anyone do that before.”
Naruto nods, “Yeah Sasuke is usually pretty stubborn.”
Ino can’t help but laugh, “But Sai is so socially stupid he’ll just ignore that.”
Sai walks around in front of him, “Is Naruto’s asshole really that great? I mean it’s got to be if you fuck it all the time and you’re still mates.”
Sasuke kept his eyes closed, but it was clear that the conversation was bothering him.
Naruto’s face is red as Sai continues talking, “Damn, haven’t seen Sai talk like this since high school… It’s bringing me back to an awful time…
Kiba nods now standing on his own out of Naruto's arm as he grabs his beer from the table sipping it, “If it were me I’d punch him by now or walk away. Your mate is holding out.”
Ino has an awkward smile, “Sakura sounded sadistic on the phone when she told me about ‘Sending Sai to the Beta Bastard’.”
Naruto couldn’t help but sigh at his best friend’s meddling.
Sai looks up in thought as he seems genuinely curious of Sasuke and Naruto’s bedroom activities, “Do you cum in his asshole? And if you do how many times do you cum before it overflows?”
Naruto covers his ears embarrassed at the personal question. He hopes Sasuke does something before he dies from shame thanks Sai’s awful social skills.
Kiba and Ino were both boisterously laughing at his expense while Sasuke looked ready to murder the other beta right then and there, but he simply turns away his aura even darker.
Kiba coughs from his laughing, “He still hasn’t punched the fucker!? Damn Uchiha has an iron will!”
Naruto could only cringe and blush hoping Sai will get tired of Sasuke ignoring him.
Sai walks over to face him not taking the hint, “If you cum in his ass all the time, does that mean when Naruto uses the bathroom his- “
Before Sai could finish the question, Sasuke punches him hard in the face knocking him onto his back quickly. Afterward the beta rushes over to Naruto pulling him away from the scene while Ino and Kiba look at the man unsurprised by the outcome.
Sasuke was fuming as he goes to hug Naruto to decompress from the stress the socially inept beta caused him for a good ten minutes.
Naruto smiles patting his head, “Sorry about him. It’s kind of Sai’s initiation to make someone so mad and uncomfortable.”
Sasuke rises from his neck with a glower, “Is he a fucking idiot?”
Naruto scratches the back of his head, “Logically no. He always did good in school. But socially fuck yes. He almost got himself expelled from his idiotic banter all the time. He always made everyone around him uncomfortable. “
Sasuke sighs as he holds onto Naruto’s hand, “So was that the worst of your friends? Because if it wasn’t I’ll need a fucking drink.”
Naruto nods, “Don’t worry. I promise the rest of my friends aren’t nearly as bad as Sai. And I’ll be honest, Sai is usually tamer these days since he started dating Sakura I think she wanted to mess with you. “
Sasuke glares as he responds, “Haruno’s taste in men is abysmal.”
Naruto sighs, “Trust me I know. I’ve been telling her that for years.”
The two mates make their way towards the bar where all the food was set. Tenten, Lee, and Hinata were talking next to the steaming plates.
Naruto smiles greeting the trio, “Hey guys. This is my mate Sasuke.” He motions to his beta before motioning back to the group, “This is Lee, Tenten, and Hinata. I met Tenten and Lee in high school and I’ve known Hinata since middle school”
Lee bows energetically, “Pleasure meeting you Sasuke! I have recently discovered your existence after coming home! Apologies for not introducing myself sooner!” as he yells with conviction.
Tenten bows as well, “Hello Uchiha, my mate has work with your family many times. It’s certainly a small world out there.”
Hinata shyly bows low before rising up, “N-N-Nice meeting you Uchiha-san. I’m so happy Naruto-kun finally has someone in his life to bring him happiness.”
Sasuke nods acknowledging their presence.
Naruto did well to keep the conversation going seeing how he owed Sasuke a break from talking thanks to dealing with Sai with no help from Naruto at all.
The group mostly spoke about things in their life that Sasuke wasn’t familiar with, so Sasuke was able to quietly just stand there without pressure to join in.
After Naruto and the three were done he dragged Sasuke away to grab something to drink, “You want beer, juice, or water?”
Sasuke answers curtly, “I’ll have a water.”
Naruto gives him a glass of water while Naruto pours a cup of juice, “You alright?”
Sasuke looks to Naruto raising a brow, “Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?”
Naruto stares at his hands fiddling with the glass of juice as he explains, “ I feel like I’m forcing you to come here against your will.”
Sasuke sips his water before he ruffles his head. Naruto turns looking at his mate as the beta looks at him with a smile, “I intend on being with you for a long time Naruto. So eventually I will have to meet your friends. I may not come to these gatherings all the time, but they are a part of your life as much as I am. So you’re not forcing me to do anything. It’s interesting to know the kind of people that you’ve become close with.”
Naruto smiles leaning his head against him, “Yeah.. I felt the same meeting your friends…. Seeing how you all interact.”
Sasuke then looks straight at Naruto's eyes deadpan, “But in my personal opinion you should cut off Haruno’s mate indefinitely.”
Naruto laughs patting his back, “Sakura’s my best friend. That’ll be hard to do since I like seeing her as much as I can.”
Sasuke looked at Naruto a little too seriously, “Then Haruno should dump his ass, so he’ll never be in your life again.”
Naruto cackles expecting Sasuke to have this kind of reaction towards Sai.
Kiba walks over kicking Naruto’s ass hard, “Oi no love bird shit! If me and Hinata can’t cuddle you sure as hell can’t with your mate!”
Naruto glares shoving his face making him stumble, “That’s because last time you cuddled you pissed off Neji because you went to second base in front of everyone because you’re a lightweight!”
Kiba growls, “Fuck you Uzumaki!”
Naruto then realizes Shikamaru still hasn’t showed up, “Hey did Shikamaru end up staying at the apartment to nap?”
Kiba shakes his head, “No. I actually thought he would be here since he left the apartment first. So I have no idea where he is.”
Choji overhears their conversation, “Oh Shikamaru is bringing his mate.”
Naruto’s eyes widen “For real!?”
Kiba snickers, “About damn time. I’ve been dying to meet her since he refuses to show pictures.”
Sasuke sips his water looking to Naruto, “I didn’t know Nara was dating.”
Naruto nods, “Yeah she lives all the way in Suna so whenever they go out he’s gone for the whole weekend.”
Kiba’s eyes widen, “Wait if she’s coming over does that mean she’s staying at our place?”
Naruto’s eyes widen when Kiba points that out before he chuckles, “Well sucks for you.”
Kiba glares, “What do you mean!? You share a room with the bastard!”
Naruto points up to his mate who looked unamused by their banter, “I have Sasuke’s place to stay over to avoid that shit.”
Sasuke simply places his arms around his mate's casually letting his hand land along Naruto’s hip as he drinks more water.He's not arguing against that arrangement which meant that Naruto could indeed avoid that shit.
Kiba turns to Choji desperate, “Choji he’s your best friend and you have a house surely you can-“
Choji covers his mouth before Ino could pick up on Kiba’s request, “Um even if he wasn’t bringing his mate Shikamaru is actually banned from coming over my house for a while.”
Ino screams from across the room, “INDEFINITELY!!!” She was still able to pick up on the conversation despite Choji’s effort.
Kiba moves his hand, “What the hell did the lazy bastard do at your place to get him banned by Ino?”
Choji scratches his cheeks as he explains, “He um… One of the times he came over we got wasted and destroyed Ino’s garden. And the time after that we got wasted and pranked Ino drawing all kinds of stuff on her face. And the final straw was the last time we got wasted we ate all the food in the house. At the time I had no idea Ino was pregnant and has a specific craving for her banana pudding. We ate all of them during our drunken food binge and that was actually how I found out I was going to become a father. I had never seen Ino so angry over something like that in my life.”
Naruto and Kiba looked at Choji shocked.
Kiba turns back to Naruto, “I never thought he was that wild getting drunk. He has a high tolerance, so I’ve never seen him wasted.”
Naruto nods, “Me neither. I always thought he was a couple of beers kind of guy.”
Choji crosses his arms, “My tolerance level is high too, so it’s the only time me and Shikamaru really get drunk. But right now, especially while Ino is more sensitive, its best to just avoid causing problems for her.”
Kiba sighs now stuck with dealing with the possible issue with Shikmaru bringing his mate to their apartment, “Fuck this blows man! I have to deal with him being all lovey dovey with his fucking mate at my place!”
Sasuke leans down to Naruto’s ear to ask him, “Why doesn’t he just spend the night at Hyuuga’s place?”
Naruto turns back answering, “Hinata still lives with her parents, and they actually have no idea she’s dating right now.”
Sasuke snickers amused, “That really sucks for him.”
Naruto chuckles, “Glad I don’t gotta deal with it.”
Kiba punches his arm making Naruto fall against Sasuke a little, “Fuck off you assholes!”
Before they could argue any further the door in the back opens and closes and Naruto could pick up that it was more that a couple of footsteps.
Shikamaru walks in holding a tall girl's hand. Her hair was tied in high frizzy pigtails. She looked older than all of them. Behind her was a taller bulky man that had some face paint on and brown hair. he looked to be around their age maybe a year older. A little behind him there's a shorter man with red hair who looked maybe a year younger than Naruto. But for some reason there was something about him that was familiar. But he couldn’t really understand why the man was giving Naruto that feeling. He’s never seen a guy like him in school or even in passing. He had some piercings and heavy eyeliner. His eyebrows shaven and above his left eye, slightly covered by his red fringe was a tattoo of the kanji love.
Choji walks over, “So this is your mate Temari you've been hiding and those must be her little brothers you told us about.”
Shikamaru yawns, “Yeah. They decided they wanted to be overbearing tonight and tagged along like leeches. They’re always cock blocking me.”
The brown-haired guy hits the back of his head, “Fucking die already scumbag!”
The short red-haired man hits this ankle hard, “Better yet let’s bury him alive Kankuro…” he has blood lust in his eyes.
Temari bonks both of their heads, “Sorry about my brothers they just care about me a little too much sometimes.” She had a look of dark rage beneath her eyes looking like she also wasn’t happy with her little brothers’ pestering.
Shikamaru thumbs towards the brown haired one, “The guy with the lame make-up is Kankuro. He’s a beta.” He then motions with his head towards the short red head, “The scary looking one back there is Gaara. He’s an omega.”
Temari smiles waving to the group, “And I’m Temari. I’ve been dating Shikamaru for over a year now. I’m also an omega.Nice to finally meet everyone.”
Everyone greets and cheerfully welcomes Shikamaru’s mate and her siblings.
As the night went on Sasuke yawns as he leans back against the wall close to the kitchen entrance. Naruto looks back to him, “You wanna head out?”
Sasuke sits up standing placing his hand in his pocket, “Honestly I do. But you seem to want to stay so I can deal with it.”
Naruto shakes his head, “I can always meet you back at your place if you want to head home now.”
Sasuke looks to Naruto stubbornly, “I’m not ditching you here. Especially since we came together.”
Naruto rolls his eyes at his headstrong mate patting his back, “I’m fine Sasuke. I can make my way back to your place with no issues. I don’t need you to stick around if your tired. Plus you'll have kendo all day tomorrow. So you should get some sleep.”
Sasuke stares down looking at Naruto intense, “Are you sure you’ll be fine?”
Naruto nods kissing his cheek, “Yes. You’re leaving me with my friends not at a random club.”
Sasuke sighs before caving in kissing his mark one more time before rising up, “Then I’ll see you at my place then.” Naruto already had a key to his apartment so there would be no issues for Naruto to enter Sasuke's place.
They kiss each other one last time before Sasuke heads out. Naruto smiles as he explains his mate needed to head out as he starts to enjoy his time with everyone. Once in a while he would catch Gaara staring at him. He wondered if maybe he gave Gaara a weird impression since he did look at him too long trying to see if he remembered him from somewhere. Naruto hopes he didn’t make the guy uncomfortable.
After a good hour he decided it was time to head out himself so he says goodbye to everybody. Afterwards the alpha makes his way to the back door. But before he could put on his shoes back on Gaara walks up right behind him, “Can we talk alone?”
Naruto almost jumps. He looks back at the strange omega. He wonders if he wanted to set some boundaries thinking Naruto was interested in him.
“Um sure…” Naruto awkwardly responded.
Gaara puts on his boots. Naruto guesses he wants to talk outside, so Naruto also puts on his orange sneakers. The two walk outside but Gaara leads him further away. Naruto looks at him confused, “Um how far are we going?”
Gaara answers not looking back, “I saw a playground on the way here so we’re talking there.”
Naruto knew which park he was talking about. He simply places his hands in his pockets feeling a little weird from how quiet it was. The two finally made it to the dimly lit park Gaara takes a seat on the swing and Naruto does the same next to him. He wanted to clear things up so Gaara wouldn't feel scared of him for making a weird first impression.
“Um so… I’m really sorry for staring at you earlier. I just... For some reason there was something about you that looked familiar. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” Naruto explains bowing his head a little towards the shorter omega.
Gaara looks down before he looks back to Naruto staring straight into his eyes. His sea green gaze piercing him, “Naruto… You weren’t wrong to stare… We used to play all the time when were little.”
Naruto’s eyes widened a little caught off guard. He doesn’t remember playing with someone like Gaara back then. If he did his friends would have recognized him too, “What are you talking about?”
Gaara looks back down towards his boots as he clacks them together, “You might have blocked out that time… but… back in the foster facility we would play together whenever you were there. You were my only friend during that time…”
Wait the foster facility where...Mizuki... where he...? Naruto’s whole body felt warm as it throbbed, and his heartbeat got louder.
Gaara continues, “I remember how much we would play and how much I liked you back then… You were actually my first crush… but then…” Gaara’s grip on the steal handles of the swing tightens.
Naruto felt so hot now with fear his breathing was picking up as his eyes started to glaze with tears.
The omega was shaking now as he leans down his eyes tearing up, “Mizuki that bastard. That disgusting fucking creep. I never liked him. I always thought he was fake… but he would spoiled you all the time and treated you nicely…. Which helped keep your guard down around him…” Gaara chokes up now sobbing, “I’ll never forgive that monster for what he did to you that day…I was looking for you and thought you were playing hide and seek…. You usually say goodbye if your guardian comes to take you home. So I wanted to find you but then.” Gaara covers his mouth looking like he’ll throw up.
Naruto gets up shaking his head hugging himself as his body trembles.
Gaara is now bundled up hugging himself as he’s sobbing, “I.. I’m the one that found him and saw what he did to you… I… I ran to a staff member, and they stopped it… but when I saw you…” Gaara holds his head, “You looked like a corpse when they carried you away…. I… I thought you were dead and cried all night…. I was so relieved you were alive… but you didn't stay long and when you did you still looked dead. As soon as you left they shut down the institute and I was transferred to Suna. After my older siblings found out where I was when I was staring middle school, Temari and Kankuro ran away from home to save me and we ended up staying in Suna barely getting by.”
Naruto was shaking and crying now feeling so sick. He looks at Gaara not realizing this was the person to take him out of that dark room that day. The one that stopped Mizuki. Naruto goes over hugging him so tight kneeling in front of him sobbing into his shoulders, “Thank you…. Thank you!!! Thank you!!!” He was a mess crying so hard into the boy he had forgotten long ago.
Gaara sobs hugging back crying hard into his shoulder as he holds him close like he’ll lose Naruto again if he lets go.
Naruto had no idea that there was someone he left behind that day. He only remembers the painful memories from that time in his life. He never thought he would ever meet someone else who was just as if not more traumatized by that incident with Mizuki.
Naruto thought if he ever met anyone from that time he would run away and want nothing to do with that person. But Gaara was the one to save him. Thanks to the omega he was able to get out of that room and Mizuki was arrested and he never had to worry about him again. Usually Naruto is wary of omega men, especially thanks to Mizuki. But for some reason Naruto didn’t feel scared of Gaara at all.
He looks down at the omega with a tearful smile staring at the messed-up eye liner smudging down his face, “You found me…”
Gaara chokes up hugging him even tighter sobbing, “I found you….”
Naruto and Gaara finally sat back on the swing sets both calmed down their eyes red and puffy while they stared up at the sky.
Naruto smiles laughing, “You know I think if you tried telling me all this a few years back I probably would have hated you.”
Gaara nods, “I honestly expected you to hate me now…. I hated myself so much for it.”
Naruto nods swaying a bit in the swing set, “Survivors guilt.”
Gaara looks to Naruto perplex, “What?”
Naruto looks back, “It’s called survivors guilt. My therapist told me about it when we played a scenario of my reaction to my abuse in third person. She explained if you see someone getting killed, abused, or raped it could cause you to feel just as bad as the victim.”
Gaara stretches out his legs making him push back a bit on the swing, “That actually makes so much sense for why… I’m so…”
Naruto snaps finishing the sentence, “Fucked up in the head?”
Gaara leans back yelling, “Yes!” His body now hangs on the swing comical since he was too big for the seat.”
Naruto starts to laugh really hard which made Gaara sit back up looking up at him. Naruto sighs laying his head against the chain to his left closer to Gaara, “I can’t wait to tell her about this breakthrough… About you…. I don’t know why but…. I feel so good… Like even though that part of my life fucking sucks…To know I have someone from back then that…. Also knows this dark awful feeling with me…. I feel so much better somehow like you’re the missing puzzle piece Gaara.”
Gaara smiles up at Naruto happy closing his eyes with ease, “I had no idea that I would ever see you in my life again Naruto. Especially after I was taken to Suna…. I’m just… happy you’re still here…. I always got scared that… that maybe after everything you would have…ended things.”
Naruto lets go of the chains leaning forward resting his forearms along his legs, “I did have moments of weakness. I self-harmed back then.” He points to his face, “I would always cut these out whenever I looked myself in the mirror. I did it probably at the peak of the bad times. When I shut everyone out and I hadn’t gone to therapy yet. I took out all the rage and sadness on my face….” He starts to cry placing his hand covering his eyes, “Holy shit…. I haven’t even told Sakura or my mate about that….”
Gaara places his hand along his cheek, “I know…what its like…” He reveals his forehead, “I carved this out on myself before I got it covered with a red tattoo. I was dealing with other things besides that incident with you, so I took things out on myself too.”
Naruto smiles gently holding his hand, “It must have been hard dealing with more things on top of what happened at that place…”
Gaara looks up closing his eyes looking at ease for the first time in his life, “Naruto…I’m glad you’re still here…”
Naruto smiles holding his hand closing his eyes as well, “I’m glad your still here too Gaara…”
Naruto wasn’t sure what the future looks like now that he’s meet Gaara again after all these years. But he’s happy to share something dark with someone in his past that wasn’t his abuser.
As he sits there calming down and talking with Gaara he fails to notice the five missed calls and ten text messages from Sasuke. Unaware how worried he was making his mate while Naruto was distracted.
