Summary
As a branch from a tree snaps back and hits him in the face, Shang Qinghua is pretty sure this is the stupidest idea he’s ever had.
Shen Yuan, his best, sickly, (and only) friend in the whole wide world is missing. Honestly, Qinghua is impressed he managed it with how anal his older brother is about his location at all times, but he is. It’s been two days, and Shen Qingqiu is one conniption away from sending a letter to the royal court to make everyone go look for his darlingest little brother. Honestly, if Qinghua had an ounce of self-preservation in his short, fat body, he’d have let this happen. However, due to the overwhelming anxiety threatening to cause him to both throw up and die without Shen Yuan, seeing as the man has been without his medication this whole time, he’s decided to enter the woods that Shen Yuan admitted to wanting to explore by himself.
Qinghua is not strong, only a little smart, has no stamina, and a terrible sense of direction. He’s so lost. The only reason he still has hope is because Shen Yuan is just as if not more hopeless outdoors as he is. So maybe two very stupid minds will think alike. -

Summary
Lysandre von Ordelia looks at the table covered in absolutely every single white, edible substance known to man (and one or two brown substances, just to keep things funky fresh), and looks back at Felix and says, “Well, fuck.”
He nods, “Well, fuck, indeed.” They look back at the powders.
“Where are the wet ingredients, Felix?” Felix pauses before sighing.
“I’ll go get the eggs. What else do we need?”
“Vanilla extract and uh…” They trail off, looking at the book they found with Felix the day before. “Fresh cream.”
“...? You put cream in macarons?” Lys rolls their eyes.
“In the filling, you rube.”
“Can’t you just call me a piece of shit like a normal person?”
“No. It’s funnier. Go get the eggs.” Felix rolls his eyes back at them, shoving their arm before exiting the kitchen. Lys shakes their head absentmindedly before looking back at the recipe book. Double-chocolate Faerghus macarons were a complicated recipe, but they wanted to give themselves plausible deniability when they presented Annette with her birthday treat tomorrow. If it was a hard thing to make, then clearly it wouldn’t be their fault that it failed.
That was how it worked, right? Definitely.

1. Stephanie Brown likes to think she knows her ex-boyfriend/best friend pretty well, even if he’s been… She would say “surprisingly” distant lately, but Tim has never been even mediocre at talking about his feelings.
2. Barbara Gordan sips her coffee as she looks at all of her monitors with a delighted grin. Seems Tim has upped the ante.
3. Kon-El Luthor-Kent is pretty sure this is Bart’s fault, actually, and that he should have no blame in this situation whatsoever.
4. Richard Grayson isn't entirely sure what's happening right now, but they're certain that whoever got Tim to cry is going to die at least nine painful deaths, and that's not counting the Titans.
5. Bernard Dowd knows that his boyfriend is keeping something from him, but if it's what he thinks it is, then he does not care at all.
+1. Timothy Drake-Wayne fidgets with the edges of his jacket until it begins to fray because this particular Wayne Family Dinner might just be the death of him.
Or, five times Tim's friends and family figured something out about him before he had the chance to tell them, and one time he got the chance to tell them first.

The Winter Festival was finally here. Snow fluttered through the air, the cold causing most cheeks to redden ever so slightly, faces tucked in scarves.
Ephraim looked outside his window and took a deep breath, his enchanted binding bandages stretching to accommodate him. The sounds of the bells and laughter of everyone were muffled by the glass, but it still brought a sense of warmth to his chest.
He nodded to himself, a plan coming together, as he wrapped his winter cloak around his shoulders. They’d like that, he thinks. -

When he heard the phrase ‘your life flashes before your eyes’, he hadn’t realized it would just be him watching himself become so terrible his family would disown him and knowing he can’t do anything about it.
Because it already happened. It’s too late.
The wound burns and bleeds slowly. He will die from this, he knows. He can see his intestines hanging out of his armor. Blood is coating his mouth and he chokes, unable to breathe through it.
He should feel more pain, more fear that he is dying.
Instead, he is relieved.
