Summary
The last thing Peter sees is Tony's horrified, heartbroken expression leaning over him. The guilt in his eyes is almost worse than the burning pain that's taking Peter apart piece by piece. The world starts to go dark.
There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.
“Easy,” a woman says. Her words are gentle, and carry a slight accent that he can’t place. "I'm called Wonder Woman. What's your name?"

Summary

Summary
Peter felt the pain of his body trying to knit itself together even as it was torn apart. His spidey-sense screaming at him of the danger, danger that he couldn't escape. He begged anyway, begged Mr. Stark to save him. He knew it wasn't fair on the man... he did it anyway. Holding back tears, Peter apologized to his mentor as he fades away into dust.
Green, a bright fluorescent Green fills his vision, he's drowning in it. Drowning. He can't breathe, the green fills his nostrils, his mouth, his lungs. Until he isn't, he's not drowning and he breathes in desperately, coughing out the green liquid as he greedily gasps for air.
There's no one to tell Peter he's okay, not the warming presence of his Aunt, the scent of cinnamon to fill his nostrils, nor the motor oil he'd become so familiar with from his mentor. He was well and truly alone in this cold, dark world.
Would he find a way home? Or would he have to create a new one in the unfamiliar world?
(I've set this work as Mature for the heavy mentions and depictions of self-harm and suicidal thoughts)

Previously posted under username signofthree. This post-IW fic was written pre-IW, so it is pure speculation based on the trailers. And now, I suppose, a slight AU.
It’s been months since the Avengers defeated Thanos, and Peter’s doing fine. Really. Okay, so he has like, ten times as many villains to fight lately (and what is up with their costumes?). And sure, Tony has barely spoken to him since they got back. And, yeah, the whole coming back from the dead thing is a mind trip. But he’s dealing with it. All things considered, he’s doing a pretty good job of it too.
With everything else that’s going on, a bruise seems like such a little thing that Peter doesn’t pay it any attention, even when it doesn’t fade nearly as fast as it should. It’s just a bruise. It’s no big deal.
Enter an alien virus, throw in some Dr. Strange, inter-dimensional note passing, and a very, very angry Tony Stark, and suddenly it’s not such a little deal anymore.

Bruce doesn’t say anything as Tony presses his face so close to his they can feel each other’s breath. Tony doesn’t say anything either, just wraps his fists tighter into the scrubs, leaving dark streaks of blood on the blue fabric.
> When Bruce speaks, his voice is soft.
“Do you really want to piss me off right now, Tony?”
Tony drops him like he’s just caught fire. He stumbles back.
Bruce straightens.
“Get out,” he says.
“I’m not—”
“Get out, Tony.” His voice softens. “I’ve got him, okay?”

Mr. Stark’s expression goes even darker—just for a second before he struggles to bring it back to something resembling neutral, but not before Peter sees it, and figures out what it means:
Mr. Stark doesn’t think Peter is going to make it back to his apartment.
“Oh,” says Peter, and he looks down quickly to hide the terror that he can feel rising to his expression. “Oh, I’m… that’s…”

Peter swallows again, because it’s becoming harder and harder to stamp the tears down. But he forces himself to keep eye contact when he says, “Mr. Stark, I’m gonna die.”

And then Dr. Strange is there.
