“Buck?” Ravi asks, leaning in closer.
“Yeah?” Buck, the human man, replies.
“No, Buck,” Hen grabs the photo from Chim’s hand and holds it out for everyone to see.
Buck, the 1.5x2” passport photo from 2019, stares back at them.
“Oh damn.”
Eddie smiles, he’s glad Buck isn’t too freaked out by it.
(Buck is freaking out. The only people who have seen this photo, to his knowledge, are the post office employee that took it, and whatever person who approved it in the Department of State. Not even a TSA agent. He hasn’t gotten the chance to use it.)
Or, Eddie breaks his phone, reveals the photo he's kept of Buck inside the case for years, and suddenly everyone starts giving him their own photos. Buck is only a little bothered by it.

“What are you doing here?” Buck asked, “I thought you were going to station six?”
Eddie had that shit eating grin he got whenever he was being a cheeky bastard, “Last minute change of plans.” He gave a faux nonchalant shrug.
Suddenly Buck’s face fell into a suspicious glare, “You’re not fucking with me, are you? Rocking up to tease me with those abs of yours and then fucking off to your actual station?”
Eddie’s smile turned fond, enough confirmation that this was for real, “No, I’m here for good.”
“Good, I’ll introduce you then.” Eddie followed Buck as he led him back to the small group, “Everyone this is Eddie Diaz, Eddie this is Hen, Bobby and Chimney.”
“I didn’t realise you two knew each other.” Bobby said, analysing the two of them.
Eddie and Buck began to laugh in unison, “Know each other?” Buck said, speaking through the laugh.
“We share a mortgage.” Eddie finished for him.

Eddie squints and sees some trippy, hypnotic visuals being played on the extravagant LED screens, the smoke machines blasting, lasers firing and pyrotechnics shooting up in the air on stage. Buck’s arm is raised high up and he’s flicking the air with his index finger in a repetitive motion while bobbing his head up and down, his body swaying back and forth in time with the music playing on the main stage.
Eddie cocks an eyebrow at him in confusion,
“What the hell are you doing?”

“Six three-year-olds,” Bobby corrects himself.

Buck hasn’t even heard the second option yet, but he’s already shaking his head frantically. “No, Eddie, I-”
Eddie grins, confident and delicate all at once. “Or, we can forget about him and I can kiss you on this goddamn Jumbotron until you forget what his name is, because I’m all yours and you’re all mine. The choice is yours, Buck.”
