Either you’re dumber than I thought, or more calculated than I gave you credit for. Pick your brand of damage.”

Summary

As a way to have some time to recover from being a social outcast, a family friend of the Heberts, Conrad Roth, offers Taylor a space on the archeological expedition that was chartered through his ship, after one of the passengers unexpectedly backs out. Looking forwards to a summer of exploring the Lost Island of Yamatai, Taylor Hebert boards the Endurance in the early summer with high hopes and looking forward to a relaxing time digging in the dirt and daydreaming of exploring ancient ruins.

Her mother’s eyes glistened, and if Wednesday didn’t know better, she would say she saw pride shining out of them.
“I look forward to welcoming dear Enid with open arms and a cold heart,” her mother said with a torturously warm smile.
In the distance, they heard the reverberation of a motorcycle as it entered the courtyard. Uncle Fester had arrived.
“Go bring our little wolf home, darling.”
