Summary
When Franziska's new case suddenly involves rumors of mysterious channeling techniques, she seeks out Maya, who quickly learns that her connection to the case is more personal than she thought. Their investigation will lead them to a remote shrine, to a murder from sixteen years ago and to learn more about Misty Fey's past.
The dead have always been a part of Maya's life, but this doesn't mean that a relationship with them is easier.

Summary
“Stop.” Nick doesn’t interject with his courtroom voice, but it’s something close, and Maya’s startled not just at the force of the statement but at the exhaustion in his tone. “That’s…I thought I already told you not to bring him up.” Maya opens her mouth before she can think about it, a rush of righteous indignance flooding through her body.
“What, is he just going to be another Mia?” She blurts out, half-yelling and carried only by her anger and her wish that they just fucking talked about the ghosts threatening to strangle the both of them for once in their lives, before anything like sentiments of compassion or reason that the elders at Kurain seemed insistent on beating into her can take control of her. “We can’t keep doing this, Nick!”
Nick and Maya didn’t fight. They bickered often, and on very rare occasions one of them said something mean to the other, but they never argued. That’s why the only thing Nick said in response to that, in combination with a withering glare, was, “Eat your food and go to bed.”
Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death. Spirit Medium Maya Fey is left to deal with the consequences.
