“Really?” Pearl asked. “You won’t do anything at all to help us, or talk to King Joel, or do anything to help him?"
Grian didn’t like where this conversation was heading. Luckily the armory was getting closer.
“Listen, Grian, we know you’re still grieving. You and the king. But this is not the way to handle it.”
Grian shook Gem off his shoulders. “Your time is up,” he said, voice flat.
Or; Does anyone else ever think about how Joel went kinda mad after Jimmy’s death and Grian just drifted further and further away, waiting for him to die? Cause I do.

“Aren’t you a bit young to be king?” Grian asked without thinking. Whoops. From behind him, he could hear Impulse inhale sharply. Mentally preparing for his termination, Grian thought to himself how he must be the first-ever guard fired within the first hour. It would suck for his career, but it would be a pretty funny record to hold.
