That gave Slade a pause.
It wasn’t stunned speechless, nor was it his brain catching up to what it heard. It felt more like a snapshot, a moment of stillness to make the rush after all the more disorienting.
Slade gestured with cuffed hands, palms facing upward. “It’s not about what I want,” he started, “it’s what you need. I know you have questions, and that I have the answers.” He laced his fingers together and placed his chin atop them. “But that’s… formulaic, too conventional. Why not make it interesting?”

There's unrest in the underground and Slade seems to be a part of the cause. He agrees to cooperate with the League on a condition: Only Nightwing can interrogate him.
For every question Nightwing asks, he has to answer a question from Slade as well. Confidential information was off the table, that was made clear. So what seems to be Slade's end goal here, if the deal just sounded too good to be true?

Summary
From a tragedy turned opportunity, Anthony managed to scavenge some semblance of freedom as he narrowly escapes from the grasp of HYDRA. Under their care and the Red Room's guidance, he had learned oh so many things in the ways of being a secret organization's operative; from creating fake identities, to hiding incriminating evidence, to erasing yourself from existence. It would then be reasonable to think he could easily go under the radar the first chance he gets.
However, hiding is only one way to make himself untouchable.

Or, the fic where instead of hiding from Hydra like the logical thing to do, ex-Hydra Tony flaunts his freedom by being the public figure genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist that he is. Hydra can't exactly shoot him down without causing a scene, and he can easily thwart any underhanded tactics with the brilliance they forged to their own undoing.

Summary
Growing up in a world where everyone aspires to be at the top, it should have been expected for a child to also want to reach great heights. Because who didn’t want fame, prestige, praise, and glory? Who didn’t want to be recognized for the good of their actions? Who didn’t want to be the best? It was perfectly normal for children to want.
What was not normal was for a quirkless child to aspire for such things.
And after reaching the age of 15, after being told it was best to be realistic… Izuku was forced to open his eyes. He no longer wished to reach for the stars or be above the rest. He let go of that childish dream, of being a hero like All Might he previously held in a death grip.
But it wasn’t that he finally succumbed to peer pressure, definitely not.
Izuku only realized that it wasn’t such a bad dream to let go of.
Or, it dawned on Midoriya that being the best wasn’t in the cards, but bettering yourself very much was. He wouldn’t go along with the “all or nothing” mindset others seemed to have fallen for… Not when he didn’t need to; he already knew he was enough.

Summary
During their little chat, there were some things Izuku noticed but didn’t point out. It’s best not to agitate the lion when you’re stuck in the cage with it, after all. And yet… what Shigaraki said resonated with him.
Why, though?
They were only the words of a villain, of a lunatic who only wished to destroy everything they despised, of a man-child whose end goal was to kill the All Might, The Symbol of Peace.
They were the words of someone that heroes were too late to save.
(They didn’t come. They didn’t save him. Is he wrong to hate them? Wrong to hate the people that left him for dead—)
Izuku’s connecting the dots, the details that were in plain sight (why couldn’t they see? Or they did see, and they just didn’t care as always—) and he doesn’t like what he’s putting together. And maybe… just maybe, Shigaraki wasn’t the only one who’s come to a few realizations himself.
Or: Their talk goes a little bit differently and Midoriya draws one too many parallels than he’s comfortable with.

Summary
Essentially Tony Stark was a HYDRA Operative until he wasn't, and instead of hiding he's using his fame and publicity to protect himself from being taken again by HYDRA. With HYDRA's need to being a seemingly old dead organization, they can't make big moves and the little ones keep getting foiled by Stark.
At some point in his captivity, the Red Room handled his education which is where he met Natasha Romanoff. After her graduation, they only reunited during the events of Iron Man 2.
No one knows save for a few people that Tony was Ex-HYDRA, and he's gonna try his darn best to keep it that way.
This series is essentially a retelling of the movies with chapters on scenes with important plot points in the movies.

Something came whizzing down the kitchen chimney as he spoke and caught him sharply on the back of the head. The next moment, thirty or forty letters came pelting out of the fireplace like bullets.
“That does it!” he snapped, his beady little eyes focused solely on Harry, “It’s you that they want. And they won’t stop coming after us until you’re… gone”.
Harry didn't like the sound of that.
“But Vernon, we can’t! You heard what that- that despicable old man told us!”
“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.

Summary
Harry is going to be the new Hogwarts Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. He needed a change from the way his life had been going. Unfortunately, he finds out Draco Malfoy is also going to be starting as a Hogwarts professor.
Their rivalry is, of course, not budging. But since they're teachers now, they're not allowed to fight (well, they tried, but going against Minerva McGonagall's wishes is never advised). They both become fixated on proving they're the best teacher: who's most popular with the students, who has the best teaching methods, who gets the most compliments and gifts before breaks. Everything. As a result they are always lurking around each other's classes, eager to brag that they've got a one-up.
Their students start to get a slightly different impression about their relationship than Harry and Draco have.
