‘Maybe this time’ is a character study told from Draco’s viewpoint (but not written in first person)
The war is over, Potter has won and Draco returns from an eight month prison sentence only to find he is fractured and struggling. In order to cope he turns to potions but that doesn’t change anything really. The ministry has ordered him into two years of community service that he has to spent with Neville and Luna, and his mother is eager to reinstate an old engagement to one of the Greengrass girls.
In a surprise turn of events Draco finds himself estranged from his family and making unlikely friendships. This is a story of suffering, healing and found family. It’s a slow burn, heavily focused on Draco’s journey and wholesome people trying to navigate dark situations.

It’s like Ocean’s Eleven had a baby with Die Hard and gave it a wand, a trauma bond, and a lot of feelings no one is emotionally equipped to handle. The intruders say they want the cursed object. Hermione suspects what they really need is group therapy, juice boxes, and a very long nap.
The Vault is: 50% tension 30% sarcasm 20% bad decisions and 100% one Gryffindor witch with a coin-based panic button saving her own damn life while the wizards argue about tactical logistics.

I will be roughly follow the events of the books/movies. Some chances will be made and some events and timestamps might be a little messed up. I tried to follow a calander and script of the movies but somethings are a little bit difficult. Also, this is going to be a slooow burn. So you know. I will put flirting and tension in there but there will be no actual romantic interaction until alter in the story. I will try to update as much as I can.
