“There were boxes in his car, Eddie. Clothes. Books, and-” she had helped him pack, they all had. Made a little party of it, Buck’s new apartment, the Diazes back in their rightful home, everything as it should be as much as it ever can be again. She’d looked in the back seat and saw a box with her own handwriting. Kitchen.
“What are you-”
“He was sleeping in his car?” Maddie’s always been smart.

Summary
Buck is cursed. Cursed to have visions of the future but for no one to believe him. Over the years he’s got used to working around it, until one day, the 118 gets a new firefighter who believes him without question. Okay, Eddie does have some questions, but he believes Buck, and that’s the important thing.
But then Buck wakes to a vision of Eddie getting shot. Will he able to prevent his vision from coming true or is he destined to lose the one person who believes him?

Oh sure, I just hate being alone, and I’m worried that something happened to Eddie, so I’m just sitting here spiraling, just your typical night.
“Yea, just-just can’t sleep. And I—wanted to hear your voice.”
I needed to hear your voice because you’re the only other person in the world who can calm me down and make me feel safe when the love of my life isn’t around.
He could almost feel Maddie’s smug smile through the phone, though she decided to give him a break, changing topics.
“Do you remember when you were about seven, I was sixteen, and I snuck you out to the movies to go see She’s All That?”

She got to see pictures of Chimney's kid- who was apparently Buck's niece? Sophie didn't try to make any more connections, she was already confused as to the family tree of this firehouse. And of course, Sophie could not go a single hour on shift without hearing about Eddie, Buck's late partner.
