yachi hitoka is a gem that the karasuno vbc had vowed to protect. except, she had proven time and time again that she didn't really need the protection. she was pretty tough on her own. so when she starts acting secretive and showing up to practice with dried up tear tracks on their face, their radar goes off.
also: author had always wanted to write a fic where the team comes to yachi's aid like a protective flock of birds without making yachi seem like a helpless character and i think i got it? maybe?
