Summary
It wasn’t too unusual for Chihaya to recite poems under her breath, but she seemed barely conscious of what she was doing. In fact, she didn’t even seem to realize she was in class. She was slumped against the desk, her head braced against her palm, and she was staring unseeingly at the wall to her left while she hummed. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes unfocused, yet unlike that morning, it didn’t seem as though she was afflicted by her cold.
If anything, she almost looked…drunk?
tldr: Chihaya is sick. Nishida tries to help. It does not go well for anyone.

Summary
Shikamaru knows something happened during Naruto's first C-rank mission.
The first and most obvious clue is that Team Seven comes home all banged up from a supposed simple escort mission and gets sent straight to the hospital, their lauded jōnin sensei included in the harangued dogpile.
Second is that Shikamaru’s old man clams up about the details tighter than he would with an S-rank mission despite Shikamaru and his mom's combined questioning efforts.
And third is, well, Naruto herself.
(or, in a universe where Naruto's born a girl, Minato and Kushina are still alive, and there are certain expectations between the children of Konohagakure’s Yondaime Hokage and his Jōnin Hanchō— Nara Shikamaru still wants to spend his time cloud-watching)

Now he’s trapped inside Naruto: The Last.
Yes. The movie. The one with the moon cult. The doomed confession scene. The emotional damage.
Whatever. He’s done weirder missions.
All he has to do to escape?
Survive the plot. Play the role. Kiss the girl.(Easy. He knows this story. He’s emotionally prepared.)
Right?
Right??On a sidenote, somewhere out there, Nanami is watching all of this happen in real time, Shoko is taking psychic damage, Ijichi is documenting everything—EVERYTHING, and Yaga wants to punt Gojo into the sun.
(There’s also a small, lonely girl with a red scarf building sandcastles. But Gojo doesn’t know that part yet.)

What the hell had happened?
It had been such mundane Tuesday. Shikaku had been drowning under paperwork, he and Yoshino were fighting, and Shikamaru was complaining about all his useless D-ranks.
And suddenly, he was back twenty years in the past. This had to be an elaborate genjutsu of some sort. It had to be.
Nara Shikaku is flung back two decades in the past in the middle of Third Shinobi War.
