“Do you know constellations?” the boy asked suddenly, pointing a thin finger upwards. “That cluster there… it’s supposed to be part of the Summer Triangle, right? Vega, Deneb, Altair?”
Aizawa followed his finger. He knew basic astronomy, useful for navigation, but the kid sounded genuinely interested, almost enthusiastic. Almost. There was still an underlying fragility to his tone. “Something like that,” Aizawa grunted noncommittally. He wasn't here for an astronomy lesson. He was here to make sure this kid saw the *next* sunrise.
“It’s amazing, isn’t it?” the boy continued, his gaze fixed on the pinpricks of light. “All those stars… suns, really. So far away. Makes everything down here seem…” He trailed off, shrugging slightly. “Small.”
There it was. That feeling of insignificance Aizawa had feared. He shifted subtly, readying his capture weapon under the guise of adjusting his position.
