Eddie shushes him. “Hey, you want to jinx us? Stop talking about it!”
“What are you, superstitious?”
The rest of the men cough to hide their laughs.
“What about that one chick, Jessica Jones?” Combat boots asks with a lewd grin on his face. “Man, she’s got an ass. And those legs…”
“Let’s hope she doesn’t ram one of those legs through your skull.” Bandana quips.

He’s laying in a dumpster, that much is obvious–though he can’t remember how he got into the dumpster–and his head is pounding–and again, he can’t remember why–and he’s not in his suit.
His suit?
The thought of what that is slips from his mind before he can grasp it.
The next thought is gone too, just as he reaches for it.

And the worst part is that Harley knows Peter is out there, not all that far away, because he sees the news reports of Spider-Man saving the people of New York every god damn night, stopping small crimes and big crimes and everything in between. It’s like the guy never sleeps.
Which, knowing Peter, might actually be accurate—insomnia has always been a problem for him, since way before Harley came into the picture; he has nightmares and night terrors and barely gets any rest on the rare occasions he sleeps at all.
Usually, thinking about that makes Harley’s chest ache, makes him wish he could find Peter and help him and hold him and keep him happy and safe. Usually, he’s sad about it all.
But right now, he’s livid.
(Maybe he’s going through the stages of grief.)
