Summary
A collection of one-shots set over the course of SkekVar and his Emperor's relationship.
SkekVar is a soldier, he understands that his courtship of the Emperor is a siege not a battle. Nothing will be decided decisively, it is not a battle of force or numbers, it is a slow, painful wearing down of the enemies resistance.
The Emperor does not harbour any particular affections for his General, not at all. Nope. No favouritism, no preferential treatment. He doesn't care for SkekVar at all. -

Summary
Trapped in a world very different than her own, and with little idea of how to return home, Wynn seeks help from the Skeksis, a small group of ancient beings who inhabit a mysteriously empty castle isolated in a dying land. Wynn is quick to learn that the word 'friend' here has little meaning, and that she must rely on her own wit and strategy if she wants to survive long enough to figure out a way home.
A/N (March 2025) = this story is a mess at the moment, up to chapter 17 had been edited/updated since 2022 (but I am still not happy with those changes, so expect more), and beyond that the story is still part of the old one, so both halves don't even form a cohesive story anymore. I was going to hide this story by making it private until the updates are complete, but I thought that might confuse people as I have no way of announcing what I am doing on AO3 except through writing here. Just bear in mind, if you're a new reader, well... I apologise, this will be a mess to read ^^u The finalised version will be completed this year, I will not be updating the story until all edited chapters are available. Consider this fic on HIATUS.

One night, Deet catches a shooting star—or rather, a young Gelfling named Brea who had fallen from the sky, kept afloat only by her mysterious crystal pendant. From there, the two Gelfling find themselves on a perilous journey to find the mysterious and legendary floating island of Thra. Along the way, they must team up with a ragtag crew of sky pirates who seek to unearth Thra's treasures and must evade the Skeksis who seek to control Thra's destructive automaton armies.
And perhaps they'll find something else between them, something more precious and powerful than anything Thra could possess.

Just a little story about skeksis idle time!
I´m one of those rare people who thinks it´s actually very fun to get an insight of those moments where "monsters" are "just people" and get to peek at what ever said "monsters" do when they have a bit of free time.
Do they just talk? walk? Indulge into what activities? Would "monsters" be literally evil and schemy all the time, or are they, deep down, just persons with their own thoughts and emotions?
That kind of idea was what spawned this small tale: It´s been written rather long ago, I just had never given a thought to post it before (it had also been originally written in Spanish, so I had to translate it in order to upload it here where most of the community wouldn´t be able to read it otherwise ^^So...here you go! a small snippet featuring my ideas about what idle time might sometimes look like for the skeksis (this obviously takes place at my AU, if anything sounds inconsistent to canon you know why that is ^^ )
