Lilly lets the air out of her lungs slowly. The background internal thrum of ‘get to safety get to safety get to safety’ quiets with the beat of her heart.
Maybe it’s this, that causes the lens over her vision to shift slightly out of place. Or maybe it’s the moonlight that illuminates the skin of her hands and the clothes she’s wearing. Maybe it’s the sudden and intense awareness that she can feel her hair curling at the nape of her neck, and that her body feels very strange. Or maybe it’s all of these things, only noticeable now that she knows she’s not in imminent danger, that causes her to think, oh. Causes her to realise, this is not my body.
A rustle nearby. “Clem?” comes a voice to the left.

A month has passed since the raiders attacked. And although the survivor's guilt was consuming most of what was left of Ericson’s kids, they were happy. For the first time in nine years, Clementine was learning how to live, not just survive. AJ, purely by accident, stumbles across something that can give him his voice back.
This is either gonna be a single chapter or a collection of one-shots set in a "Let's recover from our trauma as a found family also we're learning sign language" post-canon universe. Haven't decided yet, gotta consult the concept of creativity and figure out how much inspiration I am to be blessed with. -
