July 15, 2065: Tilda van der Meer peered outside a window of the colony ship Odyssey, watching as the dying earth below her grew smaller. It had only taken eight months for the Faro Plague to wipe out nearly three-quarters of biological life, leaving irreparable ruin in its wake. She could have stayed behind with the Alphas, working tirelessly to stop the swarm and give humanity a fighting chance with Project Zero Dawn. But the probability of success was slim at best; staying behind was a guaranteed death sentence. Instead, she fled to the stars with the wealthy elite of Far Zenith, leaving behind the only woman she had ever loved.
A fic about a relationship that developed in the midst of a deteriorating world and how it helped save it a millennia later.
