Summary
As Todd got closer to Neil's grave, he noticed another headstone next to his, which he thought was odd. There’d never been one on the right side of Neil’s before. He’d always assumed Neil was at the end of the row because there were already rows behind Neil’s. Why had they decided to bury someone next to Neil now, eight years later?
Todd approached the grave and blanched when he read the inscription on it.
-or-
Todd visits Neil's grave eight years after his death and is surprised to see who is newly buried next to Neil.

Summary
It is quite the feeling when your (very new) best friend gets a crush, and maybe even has himself a date, without telling you first. It's a separate and wholly more intimate one when you yourself have a crush on that friend.
OR
Todd Anderson sees Neil with a girlfriend and goes (nearly) batshit crazy about it.

Summary
Neil is gone and Todd is broken, still..
It's been ten years since Neil Perry, Todd Anderson's former boyfriend and best friend, was pulled out of school and forced to go to military school. Since then, Todd has struggled with alcoholism and lack of meaning in life. There to pick up the pieces was Charlie Dalton, Neil's old best friend. Now, Charlie and Todd are engaged, but when Todd hears rumors of Neil coming back into the lives of the dead poets, he rethinks everything.

Summary
The last thing Neil would do before they both left for class was tie Todd’s tie for him. And once it was neatly secured around Todd’s neck, Neil would fix Todd’s collar and smile softly at him, letting his fingers gently brush against the warm skin of Todd’s neck.
It had become Todd’s favorite part of the day.
But now, Todd faced a huge problem; Neil wasn’t here to tie his tie for him. And he would never tie Todd’s tie for him again.
-OR-
Todd never learned how to tie a tie, so Neil always did it for him. Now that Neil is dead, Todd is lost.

Summary
Todd feels invisible, trapped in his own thoughts and barely holding himself together. The pull of self-harm grows stronger each day, and the weight of pretending becomes unbearable.
When Neil finally notices the cracks Todd has been hiding, it sparks a fragile, quiet lifeline—one small moment of trust that could make all the difference.

Summary
Todd lives quietly in the city Neil never got to see.
It’s been a decade since he died, but Todd never really stopped looking for him. In late-night dreams. In poems he never lets anyone read.He works a mundane job at a publishing house, lives alone, and counts his life in missed calls and unsent poems. The city they once dreamed of sharing together now feels like a mausoleum of almosts.
Then, one winter night, Todd sees him. Or someone who looks enough like him to make it hurt.
A man on the subway. Dark brown hair. Green sweater. Beauty mark.It isn’t Neil. Of course it isn’t.
But why does it still hurt so much?Series

Summary
"Todd’s face flushed bright red as his eyes snapped fully open. He sat up in bed, turning to look at Neil with panic in his eyes. His roommate stared back, confused.
No. Fucking. Way.
He did not just have a dream where he was kissing Neil Perry. There was no way."

or:
Todd Anderson did NOT have a crush on Neil Perry, and anyone who told you otherwise was insane. He seriously didn't, if only he could forget about all these stupid feelings he was having every time his best friend brushed his arm or got a tad bit too close.
If they didn't subside soon, he would seriously begin thinking he was insane.

Summary
"Like always when it comes to writing about Neil, the words spill onto the paper like a knocked over glass. Once down, it's too late to clean up. A sense of guilt settles into his stomach, ashamed of the way he feels about his roommate, but he does not stop writing. Slowly in the ink, out of the pen which holds his truth, the paper becomes stained with his love. This one sheet of paper holds his heart, and he hates how much he wants to give it to Neil."
Todd Anderson writes Love Poems that will never reach the eyes of their recipient, Neil Perry...or so he thought.
A fic where Todd learns the importance of sharing his feelings.

Summary
The year was 1974. Nixon was out of office. West Germany won the World Cup, to everyone’s shock. Todd Anderson was 31 years old.
It had been over 15 years since Todd had first walked through the hallowed halls of Welton Academy. The graduating class of ‘61 was now no more than a framed photo, shamefully hung in the far corner of the display case, out of sight of new students. Better that, than them asking questions about the “in remembrance” line engraved on the plaque. 1974 was a year of change, 1974 was a year of new beginnings. And in the early fall of 1974, for the first time in 15 years, Todd went an entire day without thinking of Neil Perry.
But just as soon as he fell asleep, after a mundane, standard, happy day, it happened again.
The dream.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
Or: Todd Anderson thinks back on all the unanswered questions from his complicated relationship with Neil Perry, remembering the weeks leading up to Neil's death, and the two dreams that have haunted the past 15 years of his life, and decides to get some answers for once.

Summary
Todd Anderson is convinced love really might not be meant for him; that he might never find the right person.
He’d been in love before, though. Despite his fear of confessing.
When bookstore worker and small writer, Todd Anderson, meets that familiar eye, he’s taken back. To that room. To those memories. Maybe he should say something. But he can’t, he’s too scared.
Or,
It’s 2025, and Todd Anderson fears perpetual loneliness. He misses his boarding school days. He misses everything. He misses loving (or at least, yearning). What is love wasn’t meant for him?

Summary
“You're leaving.” Todd chokes out, close to tears.
“I have to go to the theater.” Neil whispers, somehow suddenly getting that the situation is important. “Do you want to come with me?”
And Todd wants to agree, Todd wants to agree so badly but he knows the way that the scenario goes and he knows that there is nothing he can do about it. He stares at Neil and wonders if he can change it, just for a moment, convince Neil to stay in the dorm with him, to forget the theatrics, to stay just boys in one room with him. Somehow, he figures that Neil would never admit to doing that and Todd understands, he really does, but God does it hurt.
“I can't.” Todd feels like he is breaking. “Can I?”
“No.” Neil says in a flat tone, uncharacteristic for him. “I suppose you can't.”

Summary
Love was the law and religion was taught, I'm not bought.
Todd has always been told what to believe: in God, in order, in silence. But nothing prepared him for how love would feel when it arrived like fire — in Neil’s laughter, in the quiet moments that said too much, in the forbidden thought that maybe he was never meant to live a life made of rules.
Then Neil died, and all Todd was given were "thoughts and prayers," as if faith could stitch a wound like this. He can’t pray anymore. He writes poems he’ll never read aloud. He keeps seeing Neil in the stars, in memories, in the breaths between stanzas.
This is a story about what’s left behind when the boy you love dies believing the world wouldn’t love him back.
Of guilt that feels sacrilegious.
Of grief that burns.
About a kind of love too pure for the world that condemned it.Tell me the fable where we got a happy ending. Please.
