After returning home a few weeks after the experiment that killed his former best friend and cost him his powers, Gomez's life took another sharp turn when he found the animated hand he'd kept connected to a seemingly regenerated Isaac Night, whole, healthy, and completely unaware of his past life. 30 years later, the new Isaac, mute and still physically 17 years old, is enrolled at Nevermore Academy alongside Wednesday in order to both keep an eye on her for her parents, as well as finally finish the education he was supposedly denied so many years ago.

“That’s Enid.” Ever since Enid had wolfed out in order to save Wednesday from being buried alive, revoking her own freedom and humanity in the process for her best friend, Wednesday had been stuck on keeping her promise. On returning her best friend back to normal. On hunting her down.
However, when her heightened emotions bring back her tear-filled visions, Wednesday realises that in these visions they are not just pessimistic glimpses of a possible future, but also glimpses of the past. They are visions of Enid. Normal memories that have already been lived, both with and without Wednesday’s presence.
Frustrated, Wednesday is forced to reflect on the past in order to confront the inevitable future, as she finds herself riding down to the Canadian border to save her troubled wolf, unaware of all of the thrilling twists, turns and blood that would be spilled her way.
