Look at us, you and I, back at it again"Penny Anderson seems like she has her life together, for the most part. She sticks to a routine, day after day. Tutoring the neighborhood kids, cleaning the trailer so her mother doesn't get angry, wearing the same yellow blouse and orange skirt with her hair fixated in buns on either side of her head, and reading every book the library has to offer. Though, something gnaws on her in the back of her mind; she's never been in love.
Shane McCannon absolutely does not have his life together. Everyday he struggles to keep himself afloat, tending to ruin anything he touches. So, when his dead friends entrusted him with caring for their daughter, he decided to dedicate his life to making sure he does not ruin this one thing. Very short chapters, meant to be a short and sweet read. :)
Shane is struggling with stress induced anxiety after the extreme life changes he has faced since the death of Jas’s parents. He hasn’t felt normal, let alone comfortable in a while.
The farmer, Claire, is dealing with major imposter syndrome and feeling lost since quitting her life in Zuzu City and moving to the farm. The weight of everyone’s expectations is haunting her and she needs someone to share it with and help her find her way.
These two find comfort in one another in more than one way. Shane struggles to be careful with that fragile relationship while Claire wants nothing more than to get lost in it.
*in this story, Shane is not as bad as he is made out to be, he’s just going through it and teetering on the edge of alcohol addiction. In fact he’s super hot, just troubled. So what, maybe I like a troubled hottie here and there !

Shane has always struggled with his mental health, but ever since taking on the father figure role with his goddaughter Jas, he has been slipping towards rock bottom. His alcoholism has gotten worse, he's been isolating himself from his family and his thoughts have gotten more and more unbearable.
But when these two struggling men meet one warm Spring evening, they learn that they can overcome any mental road blocks with love, understanding and trust. And they both need therapy.
