Summary

After the disastrous wedding night Maxi found that Riftan did end up leaving a piece of him behind
Now Maxi has to navigate motherhood all by herself while living under the watchful eye of her abusive father. All while her heart is longing for the man she’d been forced to marry.
Riftan in the meantime is all but clueless to the existence of his child until he returns three years later. He’s longed for Maxi for so long that he’s willing to do anything for her.

It was Ruth who was his fixation.
Elliot was not terribly sure when he had become so enamoured by the mage. He had acknowledged his existence for years, and had thought him a lazy and unkempt presence at Sir Riftan's side for much of that time. However, three years spent in the Lexos Mountains had greatly swayed his opinion of Ruth. He had seen how dedicated, hardworking and extremely capable the mage actually was. He had saved countless lives and played a pivotal role in their ultimate success. Not to mention that during their journey combing the mountains for the dragon, Elliot had also begun to believe he was the most beautiful sight in that perilous, barren place. With hair like starlight it was hard not to fantasize about the other man, just as he now did as he followed him through the castle courtyard.

Maxi and Nornui crowd are engineering students studying robotics/AI and Riftan plays on the Wedon Dragons (lol) basketball team as a scholarship student with the other knights. Dynamics will be more/less the same, though subject to the whims of my otome isekai fever dreams.

Their commander soon discovers that they have run out of coins and, instead of asking Princess Agnes for help, his men convince him to demand it from the Duke of Croyso.
