Adrien Agreste was kidnapped when he was merely four years old,
And when Emilie and Gabriel finally found him, three years later, they found out that he was killed. (Not that anyone except Emilie and Gabriel knew.)
So Emilie used the peacock miraculous to revive her son, sadly she ran out of energy before she could fix all the damage done to him. He was only brought back to life and all the injuries were still there, and he never knew he was a sentimonster.
Because she used the peacock, she fell ill as it was broken.
Gabriel and her suffered through a lot to get her cured, eventually they did.
But because of the pain that it caused, Gabriel hated Adrien.
And all Emilie knew was that Adrien had his own amok with him, meaning he was free and as human as her, Gabriel and Ivy.
And that the peacock and butterfly miraculous was back at the Guardian Temple in Tibet.
Only the first statement was true. But Emilie didn't know.

Martin stands next to him on the train. His hand rests just beneath Jon’s where it grips one of the metal poles, and Martin takes care not to brush against him despite how crowded the car is. Jon considered telling Martin, when they first got on the tube, that it was okay—that his touch would be… well, it wouldn’t be bad. Not like Nikola's. But he’d stayed silent, allowing Martin to cultivate a careful space between them. They’ve been silent for the past twenty minutes as they’ve passed by station after station on their way to Martin’s flat in Brixton.
Jon adds 24 hours onto his mental countdown of the time he has left until he’s allowed to break down and tells himself that he can manage. It’s… important to have goals, he thinks. He splits this one into steps.
Step one: get to Martin’s flat without crying.

He would’ve preferred that to what he was actually used for - Orsinov was perfectly happy being the mother of the Hope in Breekon & Hope - as in, what would for a normal company be “& Sons”. No, Jon was kept blindfolded and naked, in an abandoned museum that had once had many taxidermy exhibits. Nikola was eager - she was keeping him hostage and sent a ransom tape to Elias.
“He’s tied to a chair – Sarah wanted to use nails, but I talked her out of it because I’m a good friend. You’re welcome. And he is absolutely surrounded with waxworks. Not… good waxworks, though. The realisation hits Martin when he sees the satisfied expression on Jon’s face, thinks about the way that Jon rolls the word around in his mouth, emphasising each of the syllables and saying the word in a slightly different manner each time. He grins.
“Jon,” he says slowly, enjoying being able to take his time with this new realisation, “Are you using my name as a stim?”
