“Captain Catmerica,” Steve read out, a puzzled look on his face. His gaze jumped between Phil and the offending cat tag, and Phil didn’t have to look at Tony’s face to know it was filled with glee.
“I knew it,” Tony said, snatching the tag out of Steve’s hand.
“I didn’t name her that,” Phil said, his words weak even to his ears as he sunk down onto the couch.
A cat adopts Phil. She’s smarter than he is.

His obsession with Captain Rogers probably started when the infamous upstart had entered ship-master Fury's shop, eyes serious and steady. A self assurance that had eluded Phil for all the years that he had been alive, much more comfortable in taking on other's mission and adopting it as his own. Perhaps it was just the age that he had been at, late 20's, the age in which most people lost their inspiration and willingness to follow whatever dream popped in their head. What better icon to walk through his shop's doors than that of a man who'd somehow wrangled out a crew and legendary reputation from a rowboat.
