Summary
“Gelosìa”, from the Italian language, is an emotional state of doubt and tormenting anxiety of one who fears that his or her loved one is being undermined by a rival. It is distinct from envy in that the latter is the feeling of one who desires something possessed by another.
Denji Hayakawa just wants a simple life: good food, a decent night’s sleep, and maybe— just maybe —a girlfriend who’ll let him have sex with her. But in the midst of his chaotic life enter Yoshida Hirofumi, the school’s golden boy: popular, handsome, and… unnervingly obsessed with Denji. When Yoshida offers Denji a deal; dates in exchange for money to help his struggling family, Denji reluctantly agrees. It’s an innocent arrangement.

In the year following everything that happened, Denji has become the caretaker of a kid and eight animals, enrolled in high school, and is getting blocked in his attempts to get girls by revealing his identity as Chainsaw Man. Not much has changed besides that, but then the relationship between him and Yoshida Hirofumi turns into one that’s more than platonic. Denji has always assumed that he and Yoshida are complete opposites, but as they grow closer, he realizes that they have a lot in common for better or worse — and that there are things he’ll need to finally face in order to move forward with not only their relationship, but his life.

She absently touched the column of her throat, feeling the thrum of life under her fingers and her shoulder pressed against his arm.

“I don’t really deserve to dream.” She said, tipping her head to the side in contemplation. “Now do I?”

Still bearing the scars from her time with the Soviet Union, Reze tries her hardest to get used to begrudgingly working as a devil hunter for a wounded Public Safety desperate for personnel while also figuring out what the hell she was supposed to do when tossed into general society out of ‘good behavior’ as if she wasn’t one of the worst monsters on payroll.
They meet again, somewhere in the middle.
