Summary
Suzume Hayashi wants to live a quiet life away from the Public Safety-CCG overlooking Japan and not having them discover the "link" to Hell that she and her late uncle had discovered, unfortunately, she can't have a quiet life when a delirious Denji bangs on the windows of the convenience store that she works at, yelling for her help.
Oh yeah, there's also the corpse of well known CEO of the Endeavor Agency, Enji Todoroki falling into her apartment and if she and Denji don't wise up and find whoever killed him soon, people will think they did it, and that's the last thing Suzume wants for her and her new friend!
And then there's the fact that the Public Safety-CCG want Denji recaptured through any means necessary, and it's Leader is willing to have more bodies drop in the process if it means for Denji to be her prisoner again.

At a friend's request, this is actually just the exact same story as my other Asa/Denji/Reze ongoing, "I'm Not Jealous", I but decided to divide some of the more massive chunks into shorter chapters for easier reading consumption. The original text is preserved entirely unaltered here, just with more chapter breaks inserted where I felt there were natural stopping points.
Additionally, each original chapter of INJ that gets re-posted here will be accompanied by a new illustration I created just for the purpose of this revised version. This will be updated intermittently and only when I've got an illustration for the chapter in question, so I would check out the main storyline first for new chapters before it gets posted here.

The thing sitting in the third row was not a human despite its outer skin mimicking that of one. Denji could tell this the moment he stepped through the door. The thing sitting in the third row moved even while it was sitting. It spoke even when it wasn’t. Its entire being deteriorated and was birthed again, it died and came back to life and all the steps between that. Denji could not bring himself to properly look at it. Looking at it felt as though he would look directly at the sun. Or some other great large thing he couldn’t truly comprehend.

Still bearing the scars from her time with the Soviet Union, Reze tries her hardest to get used to begrudgingly working as a devil hunter for a wounded Public Safety desperate for personnel while also figuring out what the hell she was supposed to do when tossed into general society out of ‘good behavior’ as if she wasn’t one of the worst monsters on payroll.
They meet again, somewhere in the middle.

Denjis journey based heavily on the anime and manga (spoilers and major deaths! Please don't read if you haven't read the manga).
This is a mix of Canon and non Canon.but the Canon is very revelant and the non Canon is just more depth into the whole makima grooming denji process. And other stuff.
Makimas grooming and psychological control over Denji. A boy who has had nothing to live for other than his now (heart) pochita. Making him vulnerable to Control, groom, sa, and a puppet for any cruel woman to take control and exploit. I am NOT romanticizing nor will I romanticize Makima and Denjis relationship. I despise Makima and anyone who likes her (other than her beautifully written antagonist character. ) is weird.
This is an angsty series, as i I trying to improve my writing and start to get out of my comfort zone.
