What did Nat just get herself into?
At this point, she can’t just leave, so she places a hand on Misty’s waist, pulling her closer. Misty freezes, then immediately holds onto Nat and takes her free hand. She rests her head on Nat’s shoulder, and Nat can feel her own heart rate quickening, her body getting hotter.
This was dangerous. Nat acknowledged her attraction to Misty Quigley and then decided to slow dance with her. In the same night.
“I’ve never slow danced with a girl before,” Misty whispers in Nat’s ear. Nat doesn’t doubt that, but pulls her head back to look at Misty, whose cheeks were flushing. She smiles, “I like it.” Nat tilts her head and narrows her eyes, wondering if Misty was implying something.

Natalie faces school expulsion after they find MDMA in her locker. Her best friend, Van, comes up with an idea to get her away with it. Misty agrees to give money to the school to get Natalie out of trouble under one condition: Natalie would play Danny Zuko in her adaptation of the school production of Grease as the male lead, with Misty as Sandy, his female love interest. Natalie hesitantly agrees to the exchange and all her friends make fun of her for it because they can't stand the group of geeks, especially Mari who outed both Shauna and Nat. They are the gay freaks of the school. Jackie lost her crown as popular girl when she came out and started dating Shauna and hangs aroung them now, even though only few actually like her. Natalie finds herself growing fonder of Misty's ways, admiring how genuine she is and getting flustered at the thought of her face, she can't get the girl out of her head They start bonding progressively despite Nat's emotional wall.
