    Summary

Thorin's uprooting his entire family and resettling them into some random little town for his promotion. That's where he finds one Bilbo Baggins, a pretty little thing he's determined to ignore. Bilbo is used to being ignored, but he always gets what he wants in the end, and now he wants Thorin.

Nori ran away from the stupid little town he grew up in. He doesn't need his brothers anymore, doesn't need anyone anymore. Until he can't deny just how shitty his boyfriend is and this place feels just like the cage home was. So he goes back home and tries to fit back into a puzzle that never changes.

Ori has friends, of course he does, they just don't care much for him out of school. That is until some random kid moves in during senior year and decides he's the most interesting thing in town. Why can't Kíli just leave him alone to his homework? And why does his older brother have to be so pretty? Maybe, just maybe, going out and doing things isn't so bad.

    Summary

Dori has what is essentially a Dwarven restraining order on his father. Said father has a habit of disrespecting that, and Nori has always been the one to thwart him. Nothing has changed now that they're important, now that they're comfortable, now that they've reclaimed their home. So when he pieces together another (and hopefully final) plot by the scumbag he of course enlists Dwalin's aid in a variety of ways. It's a given now that he's finally back on the right side of the law, now that he can use both of their positions to his advantage.

What he doesn't account for is just how protective Dwalin gets over those he considers his own. Or, maybe it's just that he hasn't considered that Dwalin might include him in that group. Nori's shocked to see the guard enraged by the words of other dwarrow that aren't particularly new to him, but maybe it leads somewhere nice. Like a certain guards bed who is determined to prove both those dwarrow and his past words wrong. And isn't he just a spectacular sight on his knees, above him, below him, or really just any of the ways they're touching? Nori certainly isn't planning on complaining.

The second prophecy of Mandos states: "When the world is old and the Powers grow weary, then Morgoth, seeing that the guard sleepeth, shall come back through the Door of the Night out of the Timeless Void; and he shall destroy the Sun and the Moon."

This is the story of the Dagor Dagorath, the Battle of Battles and how even the smallest creatures can affect the course of fate.

    Summary

What was it about this would-be dwarf king? Bilbo had enjoyed his share of youthful indiscretions, but for many years he’d been settled into comfortable bachelorhood, the fire in his blood well-banked if not entirely extinguished. Then Thorin Oakenshield had quite literally crashed through the front door, with his bright eyes and his sonorous voice and his bothersome quest, and Bilbo had lost his wits.

The story of a relationship between a hobbit and a dwarf, from flirtation to consummation to disaster . . . and back to hope and home again.

Following the death of his mother and father, Bilbo takes Belladonna's place as the human representative on a council full of creatures he had once thought were only characters in storybooks. Amongst them is a Daemon king, who just might be both a curse and eventually a comfort.

    Summary

Bilbo Baggins isn't sure about this. Not one bit.

Frodo is definitely too young to enter into an arranged marriage with a dwarven king called Thorin Oakenshield. It's a good thing that Bilbo is there to chaperone him through their courtship.

After all, there's no chance that a fussy hobbit bachelor would ever catch the eye of a king.

    Summary

The voices were quieting down, and I barely dared to breathe. Though I only caught a glimpse of the scenery, there were definitely trees. I did not fall asleep in a forest. Nor is there greenery painted anywhere on my walls?
Any air I tried to keep in my lungs was being pushed out by the weight of the reality dawning upon me.

I’m in fucking middle-earth. Arda. The land of Tolkien.

    Or,
Fix-it, Middle-Earth style and your usual modern girl in middle-earth

    Summary

Unknown to Middle-earth, except for the Elves and Wizards, Hobbits and Orcs were sister races. Both were created by Melkor; the Orcs were perfect soldiers, and the Hobbits were spies, creatures who could walk in the light and required blood to stay healthy. But after the fall of Sauron, the Hobbits resolved to make peace with the other races and leave their past behind. They founded the Shire, promising protection from the Elves in exchange for never drinking blood or attacking other peoples. But after several generations, almost all of Middle-earth forgot that the Hobbits were Melkor's creation, and Men desired the Shire, so they attacked. The Elves broke their promises and did not come to their aid, the Dwarves ignored the Hobbits' existence, considering them insignificant, and the Wizards were unaware of their existence. The Hobbits held fast to their promises and did not attack Men, knowing they could not fight the Elves, who would destroy them if they learned they had broken their pact. And they had to watch Men slaughter their people like animals, until Azog appeared with an army of Orcs. And the Alliance of Hobbits and Orcs began, completely changing the Quest for Erebor and the return of Sauron.

A hobbit runs. An elf guards. A wizard seeks.
Yet the mountain is not done with them, and neither is the past. Shadows cling to every step, and what was broken beneath stone and gold refuses to stay buried.

In which I attempt to answer the question: what if Thorin and Bilbo met before the formation of the Company? How does their first meeting change when there is no dangerous quest looming over them? (A partial AU where most of the canon events happen the same way except they are married the entire time).

I have all ten chapters outlined and most of them will include prompts from a Year of Bagginshield. Expect updates about once a month (I hope!).

    Summary

Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit with a taste for second breakfasts and a twinkle of mischief in his eye, led a double life. In the Shire, he was a respectable hobbit, content with pipeweed and afternoon naps. But whispers followed him beyond the rolling green hills.

He was Prince Took in the bustling taverns, a charming rogue with fantastical tales and pockets suspiciously lighter on coin. Back home, he was "Mad Baggins," a title earned for his unorthodox ways and penchant for disappearing acts that brought back souvenirs like troll teeth and elven daggers.

Yet, his most intriguing title surfaced far from the Shire. Campfires crackled with hushed tales of the Smiling Demon – a phantom swift, silent, and deadly. This legend, shrouded in mystery, painted Bilbo as a figure of vengeance, his smile a chilling mask before swift, merciless judgment.

The truth, however, was as elusive as smoke. Was he a monster lurking in the shadows? Or a guardian, a protector cloaked in secrecy? No one knew for sure. The Smiling Demon remained an enigma, a riddle wrapped in an unsettling grin. And perhaps, that very mystery was what made him most terrifying.

    Summary

For 81 long years, Bilbo felt a perpetual emptiness. A melancholy permanently etched into his heart. He had his nephew and his friends, yet something was missing, a gap in his life left hollow. It shouldn't be. Not really. He'd known them for a mere one year. Yet in that one year they had etched themselves into his soul. Just as they dug into stone, they had dug their way into his life.
    His dwarves.

When they died it had felt wrong, as if the world had misstepped and by mistake taken from middle earth what it sorely needed. Taken its breath, stolen its sunlight. The fire within the forge had been put out and grown as cold as the stone surrounding it. Bilbo knows it wasn't meant to be that way, knows they were meant to live.

When Bilbo gets a second chance to keep that fire alive, he makes darn sure he fans the flame.

    Summary

Bilbo Baggins was undeniably different from the other Hobbits, whether it was because he was the only one with curly black hair or because he had learned to use a sword with the help of the Elves. The thing was that Bilbo Baggins was not completely a Hobbit, he was half Hobbit and half Dwarf. His mother was left at the altar pregnant, by none other than Thorin Oakshield, after all the Dwarves have strict rules against marrying someone outside their race. And Bilbo Baggins lived without caring to meet his biological father, but everything changed with the arrival of Gandalf who offered him the opportunity to meet his father and also to find the other half of his soul. It's not like Bilbo could say no, after all.

    Summary

Rosuanne “Ro” MacZorya never expected her twenty-first birthday to lead her into Middle-earth—one year before Gandalf ever came knocking on Bilbo Baggins’ round green door. The Shire welcomes her with orchard paths, flour-dusted kitchens, and tea parties that feel almost like home.

But Ro carries a secret: she comes from the far future, from a world where magic has long since faded and Middle-earth survives only as a half-forgotten legend. Now, in a land still alive with song and shadow, the past begins to stir, voices whisper her name, and even the gentlest bird’s song may carry the weight of destiny.

Ro may have found a home in the Shire, but fate has other plans—and some stories refuse to stay forgotten.

    Summary

The Company of Thorin Oakenshield continues their perilous journey eastward, accompanied by El’úvian, an elf whose fate is now bound to theirs. Having left the safety of Beorn’s hall, they venture into the dark and treacherous depths of Mirkwood. The forest tests their endurance with illusions, hunger, and despair, until they are captured by the Woodland Elves and brought before their king, Thranduil. Tensions rise between Thorin and the Elvenking, while El’úvian herself struggles with the weight of being among her kin yet not truly belonging, her sharp exchanges with Thranduil leaving their bond strained.

Through wit and daring, the Company escapes in barrels down the Forest River, finally reaching the Lake-town of Esgaroth. Though weary, they are welcomed by the townsfolk, who place their hopes in Thorin’s quest to reclaim Erebor. It is here that El’úvian’s presence grows more vital, as she tends to the wounded and lends quiet strength to the weary travelers. But the shadow of the dragon still looms, and the journey to the Lonely Mountain is far from over.

'Should have known straight away that Tooks haven't the foggiest what truly qualifies as respectable', Hamfast realized later with equal fondness and concern as he beheld the letter addressed to him in Briella’s neat script sat primly on his doorstep.

Wherein a midnight snack shifts the course of Briella Baggins' fate ever so slightly, and the expanding ripples descend unknowing upon Thorin and his Company.

    Summary

Rose isn't quite sure who she is. She is sure she used to know but having died and woken up on Arda too many times to count is bad for her memory. Unfortunately these are not the only memories she has lost. She also doesn't remember anything that happened to the body she now has before she possessed it. What she does remember is the Dwarves being rude to her and Bilbo being one of her few friends in a really scary place. Oh and the Valar who want her to help Bilbo destroy the One Ring. They are decidedly not helpful. And she keeps failing at the task. On her latest life she is separated from her traveling companions and ends up in Ered Luin. She has given up on trying to remember her true identity but that might have been a mistake as might be agreeing to be taken to Thorin's Halls.

Fili would like it if his Uncle would just come back already and rule his own damn kingdom. He would also like it if there were a few less people creating problems. It would be manageable but then one of the Mountain's Trading Companies comes back with a seemingly boring and useless Hobbit in tow and suddenly he has even more problems. And Kili refuses to help.

Most of this is rated T but there are some mature themes.
