“Hey, how’d the Commies snag an invite?” Pym complained, pointing at the aircraft that just arrived.
“Gorbachev wanted the target contained before he reaches Moscow. So he sent The Winter Soldier, the world’s most deadly assassin,” King T’Chaka replied.
The Soldier exited the plane, glancing at Peggy for a moment before continuing on. Time seemed to slow down as their eyes met. His eyes were cold as he stared at her without a trace of recognition. If it weren’t for the blue in them she knew belonged only to Steve’s best friend, she wouldn’t have known it was him either.
“It looks just like him, Howard. Just like Bucky,” Peggy murmured.
“I’d heard the rumors, but even if they’re true, the man we knew is long gone, Peg. And we have bigger fish to fry.” Howard stared after the man who was now swiftly moving away.
