Summary
Trying something new where I embody not only a character from a first-person point of view, but also writing as if from a scholarly/historian's perspective within the world of Valisthea centuries after the events of the game proper. I find the characters and the world of Final Fantasy XVI to just be endlessly fascinating and full of potential (even if that potential wasn't always reached in game...) Cidolfus Telamon, played to perfection by Ralph Ineson, is by far the best Cid in all the Final Fantasies that I've played, and he just radiates "bisexual dad" vibes. So, in my headcanon, Cid is just that: a bisexual dad, who absolutely gets around. Not to mention Cid is undeniably charismatic and devilishly mysterious, so I wanted to explore a large part of his history - a history we never got to learn over the course of the game narrative. My goal is to accurately and believably portray these characters and to show nuanced and loving relationships, with all the complexity that love, and Cid just carry innately. Always looking for constructive feedback, more tags will be added as we go (because I'm bad at them), and I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Summary
A soft gasp escapes Clive before he can consider it. Red blooms fierce across his cheeks. He curls into a ball upon his sleep mat, parchment covering his face, trying and failing to hide a smile.
Lord Telamon is intrigued by him? He hasn’t even been honest about his name; surely the Lord Commander knows this by now, if not right off the cuff. Yet he finds Clive—Crandell—interesting? Enough that he tried to find out who he is?
Clive feels his heart may well explode.

Summary
Cid would admit to being stumped about the whole situation. He'd never have expected Clive to be the kind of person to throw a tantrum. And by locking himself into a prison cell of all things?
Perhaps it was time for Cid to go ahead and dust off his Lord Commander persona. The lad would have to face the consequences of his own actions.
And perhaps, at some point, they could figure out what had prompted the whole situation to begin with.

Summary
Cid notes his door has been left open a crack, and that a table of odds and ends has been jostled, knocking several pieces to the floor. Sighing, he strides over to pick them up. “That girl will have me going gray before long.”
Clive pushes the door closed before speaking. “You already are.”
“Listen here, you twat—”
“Cradle snatcher.”
Cid takes a swipe at the lad’s knees, unsurprised when Clive dances back, a faint grin teasing his lips. “Careful there, or I’ll well and truly bend you over my knee.”

“Aye, love?”
“This is… um.” Clive looks about nervously. “Mother will not approve of me being here.”
“But she should,” says Cid, casting him a wink. “After all, you’re to wed in order to unite two lands, are you not?”
Huffing, Clive mutters, “Ostensibly. I prefer to think it’s because I l-like you, though.”
Greagor’s tits, he’s adorable.

Summary
“Well, pardon the intrusion,” he drawls. “It simply looked to me as though I had a damsel in distress situation.”
The lad flushes prettily, which absolutely does nothing to dampen Cid’s amusement. “I am not a damsel, I was in distress, and I had it.” He stomp-squelches his way out of the swamp.
