Summary
In the beginning, Brendan Vengolor wasn't named Brendan. Miriam wasn't a Vengolor. Maybe, in one of the many universes of the Fated, there's a universe where they and their sons got to be happy- escaped Rigmund's grip before the Wharf became the slum we see it as. Maybe in some universe, there's a ship to someplace warmer, calmer, where magic doesn't have to hurt and hunger isn't deadly. Maybe in some universe, they make it to that boat.
A very big thank you to my buddy Parallasso for proofreading- in the face of finals season, no less! And the credit for my inspo goes in full to Violaextract, who first drew Miriam's family and was mentally ill with me about the process of this whole thing. Check them out on tumblr!

“I think you’re overestimating how much we know. Information on what?”

This was wrong. If Gillion couldn't summon desire even for his beautiful and beloved Chip, then why did every atom of his body strain to taste the wine from the tongue ravishing his mouth? Rigmund's thigh pressed between his, firm and plush with fat.
