Lucifer created them from seven Seraphim who fell with him. They volunteered, the power too much to pass up. Lucifer tortured & perverted each soul specifically for the sin, they would pass on with a touch. When someone is stupid enough to realease one, Lucifer sits back & awaits the souls that will soon be his. The summoner, with plenty of warning, forfeits their soul, their target if he commits the sin & turns his back on God to do it, belongs to him & all those who die by or are infected with the sin are his. One at a time, they can still kill the world. Mary & Lilithia convince Lucifer to unleash one at a time and have them target someone in Tobe’s world. When the one is finished, move onto the next. Motive: Tobe blights her soul. Tobe can’t live with knowing she is the reason that whatever happened & she takes her life. While infected one of them kills her while she is committing the sin. Then Lucifer’s true plan for the Earth can come to pass.

Castiel gets to high school, cubby and weird, and meets Dean, a goth like him, and they become friends. Together they befriend Ash, Victor, Jo, Mag, and Charlie. He has a crush on Balthazar, but does nothing about it but stare.
During high school, his friendship with Dean becomes more and more important to him, at the same time as he starts to be friends with Balthazar. His rough childhood and the hard environment at his home make him feel angry and depressed, but his friendship with Dean helps him escape it for a while.
After ups and downs in their friendship, that started with silly banters and graduated to Dean teasing Castiel in a sexual manner without any payoff, it gets to a turning point at a school trip when Dean invites Castiel to join him in the shower. Although Castiel feels insecure about himself and about the nature of their relationship, he eventually agrees to everything Dean is offering.
Will his fears of their sexual experience ruining whatever there is between them come true? Or will it be Like Dean told him when he expressed his worries: “It's you and me we’re talking about. We'll figure it out, like we always do.”?
