Summary
He worked with the Winter Soldier more than he ever did the Red Halo, and it always shocked him how similar yet different the two were. They were both referred to simply as ‘Asset’ but served very different purposes. As one agent had once eloquently put, the Winter Soldier was made for destruction, while the Red Halo was made for seduction. The Soldier was dead-eyed, only ever showing occasional anger and confusion. His movements were deliberate, terrifying. His body always seemed tense, fingers twitching for a weapon. There was nothing about him that didn’t scream of a caged animal, dangerous and destructive. The Halo… he was almost the complete opposite. He always seemed to be wearing an easy smile, posture loose and pliant. He swung his hips when he walked, bit his lip, and had other small ticks. He didn’t shy from eye contact, and always seemed to be leaning toward whoever else was in the room. He seemed free and easy going, ready to have his tongue down your throat if you so much as asked. Yet they were the same, really. Two men, broken by HYDRA programming, forced into being a malleable form to be shaped to HYDRA’s needs. They had no real identity, no real soul. After all, they were just Assets, not real people.

Summary
When Tony and Bruce manage to crack the secrets of the multiverse, Steve Rogers-of the universe named Earth-Ultimate-is sent through the portal to figure out why Earth-158’s world flourished when so many others had failed. By chance, he meets Peter Parker, who is one major inconsistency between the two world’s timelines, and Steve finds himself intrigued with Peter’s apparent familiarity with Captain America.
The more Steve learns about Peter, the more he is certain the man in the mask is exactly what they need. He isn’t sure how Peter will feel about that, though. In his experience, people from universe-158 were pretty aversive to Hydra. He can only hope he is able to convince Peter that they aren’t what they appear before he puts Steve’s loyalties together on his own.

OR: Steve is from a universe where a less-terrible Hydra is control. He finds a Post-Endgame Peter and wants him on their team. Lots of heart breaking grieving and sweet, tooth-rotting fluff wrapped in a whole lot of plot!!

"There lived a certain man in Russia long ago
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow"
Steven Rogers Grant, also known as Captain America, was betrayed by the person he thought loved him: Sharon Carter. Two years later, he was betrayed by SHIELD and left to fend for himself in Russia while on a mission. Another year passed and Steve had become the leader of the HYDRA organization, now known as Captain Hydra.
"Most people look at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear"
A few months later, he met the love of his life: Anthony Edward Stark, a single father of two children. He left the organization and formed a family with the three of them and was happy for a while until, due to bad luck, his eldest son: Peter Benjamin Rogers-Stark was kidnapped by SHIELD so that he could take them to Captain Hydra.
Upon discovering this, Steve and his husband Tony are going to make SHIELD pay for kidnapping their son and separating the family...
