Summary
Ghost doesn’t feel like he could let Johnny go, not ever again, but he also knows that his hands are not where Johnny’s soul belongs.
And he does long to see that fire lighting up Soap’s eyes again. He will have nightmares, more to an already impressive collection, of Johnny’s sightless eyes staring into the nothing of death instead of back at him.
Of Johnny with a bloody hole in his head, just like Tommy, Beth, his mother, like Joseph. And Ghost, as always arriving too late. Except this time maybe it doesn’t have to end in a funeral.

Summary
It’s in Las Almas where he first sees it — really sees it.
Whatever it is.
“General Shepherd sends his regards,” Graves says simply, succinct with his taunting.
“He knows about this?” Ghost spits, but there’s that ember rising, burning in the back of his throat, breathing smoke out his lungs, threatening a trembling, terrible rage as something deep in the pit of his being begins screaming.

Summary
“Johnny…!”
Johnny hasn’t moved. He didn’t get up when Price did, didn’t reach for a gun. He’s laying on the cold steel floor, with too much blood pooling around his head.
Gaz is shouting something. Ghost doesn’t hear it. He’s not talking to him, anyway.
He drops to a knee by Soap’s side. Lands in his blood, and the thought nearly makes him sick. He turns him, trying to get him on his back, slowly and carefully, hoping to see he’s just dazed. Just out for a short bullet-induced kip.
But he isn’t, is he. He reaches to feel for a pulse and finds nothing. Rips off his glove, needing to make sure it isn’t just faint.
It isn’t.---

Summary
“This is Price.” The Captain huffed.
“John.” Laswell’s voice came over the line as the Captain muted the TV.
“Kate.” Price replied coolly. “You’re interrupting the game. Again.”
“We got a lead.”
“You’ll have to specify, Kate,” Price sighed, watching the now silent football game on the TV.
“Not on this line. It’s not the big fish…but sizable, four out of five stars. The rest are on the way, how fast can you come in?”--------------------------

Summary
Most days, Fiona MacTavish is stronger than the despair that tries to swallow her whole as her brother slowly recovers from a bullet through the head, but today is not one of those days. To make things worse, her brother's handsome but highly irritating Captain arrives, and in her weakened state, she gives in to the attraction that's been simmering between them for months.
Maybe a bit of stress relief now and then wouldn't be a bad thing. But if there's one thing Fiona knows, it's that she can never trust Price with her heart.

He’d dared to imagine forever with Johnny.”
After he’s informed of Soap’s death, Ghost finds himself having to navigate both the aftermath and a future he’s never prepared for.

When he wakes up, he's back on base. It is November 10, 2023. Makarov will not escape containment for another few hours. Johnny is still alive. Loop one, begin.
A time loop MWIII fix-it!

Summary
“Ghost thinks he’ll never forget the sight of it, that the images of that moment will always be burned into his brain. He wonders if he’ll ever stop replaying it every time he closes his eyes, like a horror movie he just can’t escape.
He can’t help but remember the crack of the gunshot, the spatter of blood, Soap’s—Johnny’s—body instantly collapsing to the ground, blood pooling around his head.”
Soap gets shot and survives, but not without consequences

Summary
The comms cut out completely– there’s a beep before they return.
A different voice speaks up in a much clearer quality. “I hear you’re having trouble disarming a bomb.”
Simon’s hand falls from the device.
The voice is unmistakable, familiar; but it’s a voice that is gone and dead, and Simon feels his heart sink in his chest as he fights back a pathetic sob. It’s Johnny’s.
And this is a recording– unmistakable from the crisp sound of the audio and the fact that the voice belongs to a dead man.
Simon’s breath falters, and he furrows his brow. “Price. This is a sick fucking joke.”
The sound of Johnny’s voice continues. “You’re going to want to start by cutting any of the blue wires.”

Summary
Ghost stumbling through the minefield of his past while he learns to crave and love Soap.
Part I (chapters 1-5) is Ghost’s POV during the events in previous parts in the series, with additional scenes and a heavy load of Ghost’s (partly AU) backstory through flashbacks.
In Part II (chapters 6-9) the story continues and ties to MWIII, Makarov and such. It won’t be canon compliant because canon needs some serious fixing. No Soap will be permanently harmed in this story!
Johnny is flashing smiles and recklessness, flirty banter and stunning looks combined with incredible competence as his deft fingers wire or defuse explosives like it’s something easy. As he breathes out from behind his sniper and in the distance someone’s blood splatters. That gets Ghost so horny he’s honestly surprised he’s kept his control while watching.
Johnny is danger and wicked humour, a flash of a grin in the darkness of a helo and an encouraging hand on a scared recruit’s shoulder.
Johnny is also tight lips pulling a drag of a cigarette, leaning on a wall alone. He is a void of things gone wrong buried inside; it calls to Ghost’s own wrongness.
