When Nero and Kyrie finally get a chance for their first romantic weekend, they face an unexpected challenge: finding someone to watch over Carlo, Julio and Kyle. With their usual options exhausted—Dante's pizza-and-sundae diet won't cut it, and Lady and Trish are away on a job—they're left with an unlikely pair of babysitters: Nico, their chain-smoking weapons specialist, and somehow Vergil, Nero's recently returned and estranged father who's still figuring out everyday things.
Nero's trying to remain optimistic about the whole thing, really. Sure, Nico's idea of "child-proofing" involves unconventional methods, and according to Dante, Vergil's current relationship with the microwave could best be described as an "armed standoff," but seriously—what's the worst that could happen when they were away?
...Maybe Nero should write down a number in bigger letters on that emergency contact list. Just in case.
Possibly in red ink.
Actually, maybe he should just write it on every wall.
A sequel to " Switching Places" but can be read independently, offering a bit of a character study of Vergil from the observations of different characters.

"Right." Nero rolled his eyes but grabbed a slice anyway. The warmth was welcome after the cold seeping through the old building's walls. They just ate in silence for a moment – not entirely comfortable, but better than before.
Nero finished his first slice before speaking, trying to sound casual. "So... Redgrave, huh?"
There was a slight pause in Dante's chewing, barely noticeable if you weren't looking for it. When he spoke, his tone was deliberately light. "Just an old alias. Sticks around, you know how it is."
"Funny choice for a fake name," Nero pressed reaching for a second, watching Dante's face carefully.
"Yeah, well." Dante reached for another slice himself, his movements just a fraction too measured. "Beats going by Tony again." The moment the words left his mouth, Dante's jaw tightened slightly – like he hadn't meant to let that slip.Around a year after the Savior Incident, Nero decides to visit Dante becoming increasingly concerned about the phone calls he's received from Lady about the devil hunter's drinking habits. Unfortunately for Nero, he finds himself delving deeper into the mystery of his uncle and gets more than he bargained for.

His composure remained in every perfectly-arranged strand of silver-white hair, in each measured step. There was something brittle in it now, like ice just before it splinters. Power was everything, yet here was weakness made visible in the mirror, mocking him. In which Vergil's encounter with Dante after the pre-DMC3 manga led to the elder twin's increased nightmares and bouts of insomnia. Taking a seeming demonic sleeping remedy from Arkham, the elder twin finds himself caught between strange visions and faces of himself yet to pass. Will Vergil be willing to listen to himself, or will he be forever destined to walk his current path?

Apokalypsa je zažehnána a Nero by se měl vrátit zpět domů, do Fortuny. Něco ho ale pořád drží v Red Grave City. Mohl by se odvolávat na svou práci lovce, na fakt, že se po městě stále prohání démoni, a byla by to uvěřitelná lež, leč stále jen lež.
Pravda se skrývá v odpovědích na otázky, které Nero teprve začíná pokládat. V odpovědích, které musí hledat v sobě, stejně tak jako v ruinách zničeného města.

In the aftermath of averted apocalypse and some harsh revelations, Nero finds himself unable to leave the Red Grave City. Even with demons still on the loose, it becomes increasingly clear that Nero's hesitation to return to Fortuna has little to do with his job as a Devil Hunter.
As the word "home" loses its meaning, there are more truths to be found both within Nero and within the ruins of the city itself.
