Summary
"He's dead."
That's the thing Tim's stuck on, really. His hand is glued to Joker's neck, his fingers—stiff, still cold from his dunk in the sewers—fumbling to find a pulse, a stray heartbeat, anything. There's a pool of blood slowly beginning to grow on the floor, dark and thick and wrong, and the taste of iron fills Tim's mouth.
For one brief half-second, all he can feel is relief. Finally, finally. It almost bowls him over, the force of it. And then—
"I killed him," Dick mutters behind him, and Tim's very abruptly reminded of the who and why and oh, no.
—
or, Dick kills the Joker.

Summary
“All these years you’ve let me think I’m crazy to still be mad! You let me think no one avenged me! That’s not even the worst of it. You let Bruce bring him back.”
His voice breaks “You let Bruce bring him back, Dick.”
Dick’s voice splinters with this brother “I couldn’t handle it. What I did- I lost control. So I buried it and let Bruce handle it. I did it for you and it didn’t even fix anything! Didn’t bring you back, didn’t stop Bruce from throwing himself into fights he couldn’t handle and it certainly didn’t make Tim any more ready to be in the field!” Jason looks at him emptily, eyes raw and angry. “Bruce did what he thought would stop me from falling apart- because I was falling apart. I swore never to kill. And even though I hate him, I have hated him since I came back to Earth and was told what he did to you, the fact I had taken someone’s life from them, even his, was too much for me to handle.”
________________Or; Jason finds out Dick killed the Joker. And that Bruce brought the Joker back.

Summary
A Scarecrow breakout leads to a night that no one will ever forget. Under the influence of Fear gas, Nightwing intentionally executes the Joker with the Red Hood's gun when he sees the clown attack Jason in front of him. Unfortunately for Jason, Dick is just aware enough to know he's under the effects of Fear and is certain he's hallucinating the entire thing even though this Jaybird is a lot bigger than the one he's used to seeing.
OR
Nightwing kills the Joker. Jason learns about Last Laugh. Tim's love language is Scheming. Damian sees the Power of Friendship in action and, of course, the JL insist that they've been very patient - it's their turn for custody now, Batman.

Summary
A kid looks up at him with bright blue eyes through curly bangs. He's wrapped up in the Robin cape, the yellow eclipsing his body and the rest of his uniform, trailing behind him, leaking blood all over the floor. "It hurt," he repeats.
"Jason," Dick says, or he thinks he does. His mouth shapes the word, but he can't hear it, not over the crackling cough that wretches itself, shuddering, from his throat.

Summary
Robin moved to attack the other people within the Cathedral. They were quickly chased off into a portal and when he whirled around, his heart lurched into his throat as he watched Nightwing fought against the Joker.
Well, it was more of a one-sided smack down, but it was bad.
Nightwing was going to kill him!

Summary
Detective Addad cuts Dick off. “Internal Affairs wants to talk to you. It’s the procedure for them to bring charges.”
“Charges? What do you mean—” The pit drops out of Dick’s stomach as it finally clicks. “No,” he denies immediately. “What? No, that can’t—they’re lying! They must be!” he protests, dangerously close to begging.
“They say you beat those youngsters, Grayson.” Addad reports. “All four say you lost it. All four say they dragged you off those boys and had to cold-cock you.”
“I don’t remember,” Dick says in horror. “I don’t… why? I wouldn’t…”
When he leaves, Dick’s left in the stupid gown on the hard hospital mattress, still shackled to the bed frame.
Shit.
OR: Remember that time Dick was arrested for murder? Unfortunately, neither does he.

Summary
Helena remembers vividly what her first kill was like. Stefano Mandragora had deserved to die, and Helena had deserved to kill him. Even with Batman’s endless sermons about how wrong killing is, she has never once questioned her own choices, let alone felt guilty for them.
But Nightwing isn’t built like her. He feels, and he feels deeply. Where Batman discarded Helena, Nightwing had always taken her choices like his own moral failing.
Even if he wasn’t practically shouting his guilt to the sky with his body language, Helena would have known Dick would be shattered after killing a man, even a man as low as the Joker. He likes to think he’s good at understanding everybody around him while keeping himself closed off, but Helena’s known Dick long enough and well enough that she doesn’t even have to guess how he’s feeling right now.
That doesn’t mean she knows what to say to make any of this better.
or: Helena follows Dick after the events of Joker: Last Laugh.

Summary
"Nightwing," Batman starts, "You're not thinking rationally right now, so we will be postponing this talk later. However, I'm very disappointed with you right now."
Batman's approval used to be something that Dick would always seek as a kid. Over the years, the more their relationship strained, the less Nightwing found himself caring for Bruce's 'disappointment'. He felt like he could never be perfect enough; strong enough; fast enough for the vigilante anyways. It used to tear Dick apart but now, standing In front of the man he once considered his only family, he knows that he no longer holds the same infatuation he once had for his 'adoptive father'.
"Move. I'm not having you bring that waste of space back to life after I just killed him."
AKA Dick Grayson decides to get some revenge on Joker and Batman decides to interrupt. Heated argument ensues. (Based off the Joker: Last Laugh (2001) comic)

Summary
“Oh, I noticed,” Red X said lowly, tossing the staff aside. “What that idiot was thinking letting Flamebird send you all the way across the country right after Batkid got blown up, I’ll never know.”
Robin flinched back at the accusation before his fists clenched at his sides. “Then you’ll be happy to know no one sent me here. It’s just where I ended up when Batman decided he didn’t want to work with me anymore and tossed me out.”
