“H—Hey!” He jogged forward a few steps to catch up to where Mizi had now stopped suddenly, “I just—I was wondering if—” He stumbled over his words, “I think—I think you’re really pretty and I…Could I have your number?!” He managed to finally force out, squeezing his eyes shut as he held out his phone.
Till hadn’t noticed that people around them had noticed the interaction, and the way that Mizi seemed to have frozen at that. Her expression shifted, but by the time Till had opened his eyes, it had smoothed out. She took the phone from his hand, “Sure, why not?”

Till always felt a very strong sense of familiarity whenever he looked into the obsidian eyes of the other. It was only a little over a year ago when the visions started. Ok, maybe not visions.
More like blurry memories. Memories that never happened. Bad memories. Sometimes, it would be a room with painful red lighting. Maybe a black ceiling, or a blue sky.
It was hazy. Like a dream. But the sense of dread was undeniable. Recently, he started seeing Ivan in his murky delusions. It was only one image he couldn’t get out of his mind.He was dressed in white, a suit maybe? His hair was slicked back and his skin looked wet. It must be raining.
Ivan’s body was sprawled out on the floor. His void black eyes were open, but they weren’t looking at Till. They weren’t looking at anything, really. Ivan was dead. There was blood, Till didn’t know where it was coming from.

He felt a wet drop, then felt the trembling shake of thin shoulder bones. In the silent room, his soft sobs sounded as loud as a scream.
“I… they…” He whispered into Ivan’s chest, and Ivan wished he could take everything bad far away and cram it into his own heart so Till never had to feel pain ever again.

The way this ugly ass man is yelling at him, you'd think Till is apart of the police force and they're after a wanted criminal. But Till never got his degree in anything useful so obviously that's not that the case.
No, you see Till works at a book shop. Yep you heard right, hold the applause. Till's been working at Sweet Dreams library and café for about two years. His multi-thousand dollar music degree has earned him a job at a mediocre book store that's attached to a slightly less mediocre coffee shop, and this man lecturing him like a drill sergeant is actually just his manager.
Or: Till just wants to do his job but his boss makes him kick some guy out. He just so happens to be in the same aisles as him everyday. What a coincidence.

Come to think of it, even the things Ivan did do right never seemed to be enough for him either. He just looks at him with that look. The weird, blank one. “Sometimes, you are the one who asks stupid questions,” Ivan says.
Till can’t figure Ivan out. Still, Ivan’s kindness, albeit weird, is something Till can’t help but be drawn to.
