Summary
The Boku No Hero Academia universe is a place where 80% of the population has developed a superpower known as a quirk (formerly meta) these superpowers took the world by storm and can be as simple as a slight colour change in hair to full-on superstrength capable of destroying cities. In many stories, we see Izuku Midoriya a quirkless boy be trampled on by society all the time and after being let down by the greatest hero in japan proceeds to show his strength and works to become the greatest hero the world has ever seen.
This is not that story, this is the story of shame, horror and chaos, a story where mistakes happen and people die from them, this is the side of the world people prefer to ignore and where starving families have to commit crimes to stay alive, where children are forced to steal and kill to be able to live. This is the story of how heroes must become villains for the sake of peace and where the government is not to be trusted.
This is a story about reality.

Summary
Kaminari Denki never in his life would’ve guessed that he would be a high school student enrolled at UA, and in the hero course nonetheless. Life was not kind to Kaminari. Being abducted at a young age wasn’t his fault. Being recruited to become an assassin wasn’t his fault. Enduring years of tireless bouts of training wasn’t his fault. Killing hundreds upon hundreds of victims wasn’t his fault.
At least that’s what he tells himself at night.
Kaminari is determined to bury his past and leave it far behind him. But when you’re in a course full of hero hopefuls, secrets don’t tend to stay secrets.
Tl;dr: Kaminari Denki was part of an organization that trained children to become assassins. When he runs away, determined to start anew, he’s almost successful. But fate has other plans in store for this class idiot.

Summary
Denki Kaminari's parents are notorious crime lords. He's been raised, tortured, and abused by them from the mere age of three, but no one knows him as their son. He is better known as Golden, the best assassin for hire in the history of the black market. Thanks to years of rigorous training and endless bouts of torture, Kaminari was forced to become the most skilled killer villains had to offer. Whether that was good or bad, he didn't know.
At the age of 13, he gathered the courage to give up killing for evil and run away.
At the age of 15, he enrolled in UA high school and found the family he deserved: Class 1-A. The only problem is, they're way too observant for their own good. And with the return of familiar faces from his past and the revival of deadly conspiracies, it doesn't help that Kaminari's perfect, happy life is beginning to crumble around him either.
Or: all of the times Kaminari's classmates accidentally got a hint about his past and the one time they found out.

Summary
Everyone who followed hero media (which was essentially everyone in Japan) knew about Kaminari Denki. Whether by name or by brief flashes of electricity both in the famous USJ Attack or the UA Sports Festival, you could recognize him. There wasn’t much to him. Yellow hair, big smile, an electricity quirk, positive attitude, and a good deal of air instead of brain in his head. Your average First Year Hero Student.
Mind you, UA is the top school in the country, both in education and students. They only take the best-of-the-best. Only strongest, smartest, and most valiant kids get in.
So how did such a static-for-brains get in? Surely the school wouldn’t let these kids in just because they can punch a robot…right?

Their teammate and most of all, their best friend. The man who’s been alongside them for 4 years. The one person they thought they could look at and just smile because hey, there’s no reason to be wary of Kaminari. That’s that one dude who looks like he’s on crack when he loses control of his powers.
What can go wrong with Kaminari Denki?
What can go wrong on a simple road trip consisting of 8 best friends in their teacher’s car to a rural town on a random summer break?
The answer, if you hadn’t guessed, is absolutely everything.

A giggle bubbles in Denki’s throat, just as light as the hair tracing along the front of his head. “And I won’t be there to save you.”
“Kat–”
“I don’t want that to happen, asshole,” Katsuki says, a definite stickiness to his voice. “So don’t– don’t do that. Got it?”
Denki nods softly. He loves Katsuki, and Katsuki loves him back. That’s all they need, and it has never been clearer.
Or: Denki is an assassin tasked with eliminating the Crown Prince and securing the throne. He does neither of those things and falls in love instead. But they have to escape if they want to be together first.
