Summary
Dan Heng and Caelus have left the Astral Express crew and made their way down to Amphoreus, and everything immediately starts to go wrong. When they finally reach a semblance of safety and Dan Heng thinks he can start to relax, new nightmares invade his sleep, rendering him restless and exhausted. As long as Caelus is safe and doesn't notice, though, Dan Heng convinces himself he can just ignore it, that it's no different than the nightmares he's had before. Even if they do leave him with a strange, longing feeling for a few moments after waking. Unfortunately for him, his nightmares have a different plan. It doesn't help that his Nameless companion is far more observant than he's let on, and has definitely noticed a shift in how his best friend acts. And the need to know what's up is eating at him.
Will either of them ever realize how they feel before it's too late?

After all, her other half had caused much damage, and after becoming one, she knew that a part of her friends, her companions, would never fully trust her again, knowing that THEY still lurk within her. And after merging with evernight.. things changed, or rather, her feelings did, for a certain someone. -

Dan Heng could not pinpoint the exact time when the newcomer had burrowed beneath his skin, could not say what had been the final crack in the shell he wore as armour around his person, could not say what had allowed Caelus to sneak in underneath it.
He could not say what changed, nor when it happened. But it did. Caelus was burrowing into his skin, not unlike the plagues of propagation, digging deeper and deeper, devouring him from the inside, and he'd been none the wiser; oblivious and unaware, save for the weird feeling in his chest whenever the other smiled at him. (Dan Heng had heard of butterflies in the stomach before, but this was more akin to ants crawling all over his insides.)
Dan Heng realised none of this until he stood frozen in place, Caelus plummeting towards the ground from the top of the Engine of Creation, a giant blade made of crystallised ice piercing his chest.
Or: Five times Caelus got hurt, and Dan Heng could do nothing, and the one time he swore to prevent it from ever happening again.

After the Reaver slayed Oronyx, the Time Titan, the Chrysos Heirs find themselves at an impasse. The Coreflame of Time is dying, and with no Heir compatible with it, all of time risks unraveling in short order. To prevent this, the Trailblazer offers to shoulder the burden, undergoing Oronyx's trial in order to take on her Coreflame. In doing so, Caelus faces some hard truths. Once older, he sets out on a journey to find him, only to be met with no answers. Until a deity outside the bounds of Amphoreus decides to intervene.Meanwhile Phainon is stuck training in the Elysian realm, and still finding a way to destroy Irontomb. The memories of those who were once his companions wear him down, but luckily he has Elysia and the other Flamechasers of Origin to help him with his crisis's.
