Chapter Text
Hinata awoke one day to find his phone practically exploding. What the fuck could be so important that his friends interrupted one of his rare full-night sleeps?
Pulling his phone off the side-table in disdain, he sighed when he clicked it on and checked his Skype messages. It was only Tanaka and Noya having another Meme War (patent pending) and Daichi yelling at them for it.
literalsunshine renamed the conversation to "MEME WAR 2K16: REVENGE OF 2K16".
The ginger let a crooked smile fall on his face; that was all he was interfering with the chat for right now.
As usual, he called Kageyama (who he wa proud to call his boyfriend) to say good morning.
Hinata only had to wait one ring before Kageyama answered with, "Dear God, Hinata, save me. The memes are too much, I'm dead."
"Oh boy," Hinata chuckled. He hadn't bothered to look at what memes Tanaka and Noya were fucking up Daichi's sleep schedule with today. He didn't think he was going to. He'd have to ask Yachi. "I take it your morning is pretty shitty then?"
He could practically hear Kageyama shrug. "It's fifty-fifty, I guess. How's your's?"
Hinata laughed again and flung the covers off himself. Might as well get dressed and shit while they talked.
"Well, not too shitty. Nothing has really happened yet, I just woke up." He told Kageyama as he dug around for his school shirt.
Kageyama hummed and Hinata took that as a sign to keep going. "I'm just getting dressed right now, so what do you think I should have for brea-"
Hinata shrieked.
"What the fuck?" He could hear Kageyama shouting over the line. "What's wrong with you, dumbass?!"
Hinata sighed and leaned back. "Ahaha... it's a stink bug."
"A what?" His boyfriend's voice dropped in confusion.
"A stink bug, you know? The brown ones that are, like, beetles or some shit, and when you squish them they make the room smell bad?" The bug was looking at him menacingly. He couldn't tell if it was looking at him for sure, really, but he had a feeling.
"Oh," went Kageyama, "you mean a Halyomorpha halys?"
The ginger paused. "That is the biggest word I've ever heard you use.
"Hey!"
"A what?"
"... That's the scientific name for it. I had to do a project on it, okay?"
Hinata laughed and promptly hung up on his dorky boyfriend. He loved Kageyama, but his big, scientific words were not helpful at the moment.
As he continued to dress himself, he watched the Halyomorpha halys, just to make sire the dumb bug didn't try to attack him or something.
Suddenly, there was a fast rapping at his door. Literally.
"I'm taking this horse by the reigns making redcoats redder with bloodstains!"
"Lafayette?" Hinata answered, surprised.
"And I'm never gonna stop until I make 'em drop and burn 'em up and scatter the remains I'm-"
"Lafayette," Hinata almost sighed.
"Watch me enragin' 'em, engagin' 'em, escapin' 'em, I'm-"
"Natsu." Hinata said.
Natsu let out an exaggerated huff and opened the door. "You're no fun. Mom sent me to fin out why you screamed."
Hinata, personally, felt very offended at this. "I didn't scream!"
"Did too."
"Did not!"
"Did not. Why?" Natsu smile sweetly at him.
"Did too. Because there's a stink bug." Hinata only realized what he'd said once it was too late.
"Really? Where?"
Resignedly, Hinata pointed out the bug. He couldn't believe he'd agreed with his sister!
Only more terror would come, though, and he watched in horror and Natsu made her way over to the stink bug, scooped it into her hand, walked over and opened the window, and dripped the bug outside.
All he could do was weakly call after Natsu, "Don't let mom hear you sing the swears in Hamilton, or she'll have an aneurysm."
