The moon was full and shining brightly. Pikachu had seen many full moon, first as a wild Pichu with his Kangaskhan family then as a tamed Pokemon with his trainer.

Pikachu still remembered how he had seen the full moon with Caterpie on his first day of journey (well second but first had been more of a do or die day then any suitable journey for a 10 year old).

They had discussed their new future and Pikachu had thought that maybe after some time he can still leave this battle crazy kid or maybe he himself will release Pikachu as he was a small and normal category Pokemon.

Pikachu had gone with his trainer at the time because even with their rough start, the trainer had still saved him. Pikachu had thought that he would be forced to many battles that he didn't want to participate in but that misunderstanding had been debunked in Cerulean city gym where an electric Pokemon would have been perfect but just because Pikachu didn't wish to fight a friend, his trainer had accepted it.

Pikachu hated pokeballs unlike many Pokemon and his trainer had given him his shoulder to travel. Pikachu knew that many people thinks that his trainer is either stupid or crazy to leave so many of his strong Pokemon but they don't understand that his trainer wants to become a Pokemon master, a person who would save human and Pokemon alike with a Pikachu on his shoulder without any second thought (sometimes Pikachu wants his trainer to become selfish, to think for himself first because what if his luck runs out this time, because what if this is the last time).

Charizard was left because Charizard wanted to become stronger, to leave the shadow of his last master. Primeape wanted to participate in championship. Haunter was happy with Sabrina, just like Butterfree with his mate. Lapras wanter her family back and Squirtel had always been a leader who wanted to atone for his past pranks. Larvitar and many Pokemon came and went but Pikachu remained with Ash just like Bulbasaur, Sceptile, Infernape and others.

Pikachu had found his family of other Pikachu and his trainer had been ready to release him too. Pikachu had wanted to shock him that day because seriously who releases his starter and best Pokemon (because Pikachu is his trainer's best Pokemon and you are an idiot if you think otherwise) just because they sing a simple but otherwise very beautiful song on a full moon night (again a full moon (something is wrong with the moon)). That night had bought them closer than anything (other than his trainer's constant death) and Pikachu had finally accepted that this trainer was his now and it will remain the same for many years to come.

Years passed and they were in a constant journey, Pikachu hadn't known that Legendary Pokemon were that easy to see because really the first day Ho-oh and rest better remain unsaid. He's still salty about that blasted prophecy and Lugia as they were the reason his trainer had become this self sacrificing idiot that Team Rocket has to save him.

Then when the memory of Mewtwo came back Pikachu had been ready to throw hands. And why is it that Team Rocket had saved his trainer more time than any of his human companion did. Were they so shocked (hah) about legendary Pokemon that they forget about his trainer. Yes, he's still salty that Misty and Tracey had just sent his trainer because of a prophecy they just heard. Also Iris' constant nagging had done nothing better.

Unova had been a holiday, they were just gone to see some place else to leave this godforsaken place where any legendary comes and decides to go berserk.. Then even before their plan to stay in the region, an legendary Pokemon had suck all of his powers. Iris thought that they didn't know what they were doing when they just came in top 8 even without any serious thought. Yes they could have done better but sometimes they want to rest, Sinnoh had been their best region yet where they reached top 4 and they would have won if there wasn't Tobias but it doesn't matter because obstacles like that is sometimes necessary to show that someone more stronger is always there and you have to give your best. The second number person hadn't even beat his Darkrai so Pikachu knows that that were ultimately the best.

Kalos had been fun and not because his trainer had finally gotten a pseudo legendary and also a strong bond that makes Pokemon evolve beyond their last evolution. Pikachu had been a little jealous because Greninja had a bond with their trainer that even Pikachu didn't had after being together for so many years. If Pikachu was Raichu maybe he took could have a bond evolution but there was no way Pikachu would become Raichu. Greninja was a great Pokemon and his trainer hadn't forgotten about him in the excitement so Pikachu wasn't too put upon though if he started doing more in battles then that was just a coincidence.

Alola was the best region so far and no one can change his mind. His trainer still had came face to face with many new legendaries but atleast there were other people who helped him. His trainer had also got a new family and later a brother. That had been the first region where they won, even though they again had to fight a legendary Pokemon to get the trophy. Pikachu had finally got a bond with his trainer.

Tomorrow would be the last battle of the world coronation championship. His trainer had came far in his journey and Pikachu had been with him at every step, with constant adventures, deaths, ups and downs. His trainer had gone from a crazy kid to the mentor of many companion. To a nobody from Pallet Town to a champion of a region. He had become an idol to many kids who are starting their journey. He has fans who are older than him. He has contacts with people on speed dial who many other rich people can't see. He had become an inspiration, a saviour, a thorn to many organisations.

At the end of the day, he's still Ash Ketchum who was late on his first day of journey and got a wild Pikachu for a starter, a kid who doesn't care about type matching, a kid who had faced death and hadn't flinch. A kid whose normal Pokemon can take on a Legendary and win. A kid whose top Pokemon is a Pikachu sitting on his shoulder who can bring down islands because that Ash Ketchum is many things but normal isn't one of them.

Though Delia Ketchum isn't normal either because no mother is ever simple and a single mother is more complicated than anything. Delia Ketchum had raised her kid with morals and kindness. Her love had been more than enough for a hyperactive kid like Ash to ever need his father. She understood that Ash was never meant to be still, and was always ready to see him leave the house even though seeing her baby leave is never easy even if it happens many times.

Ash had lost his motivation on the first day but his mother had reminded that he will be able to do it. His first loss at Kanto League had been harder Pikachu still remembers, but she was with him all the time. When they had gone to save the world, she was hoping for her world to be safe.

Pikachu thinks that Ash is lucky to have such a mother just like he had his mama Kangaskhan. Maybe one day he will meet them again on his journey because Pikachu knows that even though tomorrow is the last day of world championship, Ash Ketchum will take his bag and go on another journey soon and Pikachu will be on his shoulder.

But right now Ash needs to stop hogging all the blanket because the night is very cold though Pikachu can always snuggle with him cuz Ash's temperature is always running high and he needs his sleep otherwise he may fell asleep during the battle tomorrow.

"Pikachu come on you should sleep now".

"Pikapi pi ka pi chu" Ash let me snuggle with you.

"Sure, come on buddy".

Because Ash Ketchum was his partner, because Pikachu can do whatever he wants and Ash will never stop him, because Ash and Pikachu are not just trainer and his Pokemon where one party has unfair advantage, because Ash will always understand Pikachu and Pikachu will always be with him even in death, after all they are Ash and Pikachu.
