Chapter 1: Alone again
Chapter Text
Caelus had been traveling for the stars know how long. Hours, days, months, years... He was screaming planet X's name and had no idea of the time.
The outerspace was cold, stupid cold, dark and dim to say the least. Uranus was an ice giant who had an orbit far away from the heat, he was used to cold. but not this cold. He was shivering, gritting his teeth. He knew he couldn't survive this all by himself. He needed help. But the solar system was way too far away. Nothing left of it except for the dim light of the sun. Uranus was closer to one another system though. The neighboring alpha centauri system. If he could convince one of the stars or planets for help, maybe he could succeed in his mission to find planet x.
And if he did find Planet X, what was he gonna do? bring him back home?
𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙠𝙞𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙣𝙚𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙜𝙤 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚!
live together as rogue planets?
𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙣...
He honetly had no idea what to do. But then, why was he trying to find him? just because he gave him some kind of soltitude?
𝙥𝙛𝙛, 𝙄'𝙢 𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘.
X had even attacked the moons, just to get revenge. Titania specifically was really injured in the aftermath. His moon. His perfect little moon. She could've died. Yet, He was still after X. The last time he saw them, the moons were furious at him. Rightfully so. He had taken jokes too far by saying he'd "destroy" them for beauty, had sided with X when the moons were at their lowest, had yelled at them when he was at fault. By fair means, the Moons deserved a better planet. And maybe, they'd get one, they deserved it.
...
Uranus and Planet X had something in common. They were both blinded by something in order to get things in their ways. Urnaus was blinded by his insecurities, searching for people to recognize him, understand him and not leave him in the background. and Planet X was blinded by well, revenge. Uranus wasn't dumb, he knew that for Planet X, he was nothing but a tool to use to get around. He knew he got manipulated. But still, Uranus followed him like a dog on leash. Only because he was the only one to actually recognize him as a being other than "the planet that rotates on his side" or "planet with funny name".
And what about Neptune? His only real friend for 4.5 billion years. the one helped him when he had collided with Boreas, The one supported his career as an artist, the one who caressed him, the one who almost never left him.
𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚...
He had promised Neptune to never leave him. To Stay. He couldn't keep his promise. He discarded his only friend when X came. Left him as background noise.
"𝓤𝓖𝓗, 𝓨𝓞𝓤 𝓓𝓘𝓜𝓦𝓘𝓣𝓣!"
Right. he had called him 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕...
Uranus felt his breathing get harsher as he reminded himself of that memory. The cold was even more bloody freezing. He shut his eyes close. Neptune. His only ever real friend. Uranus called him that.
"𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝑵𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒆! 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒘𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆"
Shit. 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘵.
He was still not going back. He couldn't. Even if he had no homes left. Even so, he had hurt Neptune. He had discarded him with the system when he needed him the most. His Cousin...
He always hated Neptune calling him "cousin" because of how uncomfotable it made him. But thinking back to it now, maybe Neptune was right. Maybe they kinda were cousins. Maybe even brothers. But Uranus had let his selfishness and insecurities hurt others.
Uranus opened his eyes which had been shut and looked back at where he had been coming from, The very dim light of his Star fading into the background.
*sigh* "I won't repeat my mistakes, I promise."
But again, he couldn't keep promises.
Chapter 2
Summary:
The Sun's light is finally fully mixed into the background with other tiny sparks of stars
Chapter Text
Caelus lied down and took a break to relax before continuing, afterall, he was going to travel for 4 light years and possibly even more after that. The Sun's light was finally fully mixed into the background with other tiny sparks of stars. He wondered if anyone was going to look out for him after Jupiter returned home with bad news.
"𝑰'𝒎 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖!"
"𝑰'𝒎 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑼𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒔..."
Yeah... Most likely not. Just like how no one even stared at him when he yelled about leaving more than twice.
Uranus looked around, found and picked up some asteroids that he had accidentally dragged along with him by his gravity. He rubbed them together until brown-ish indigo like color started coming out. he then picked up a much flatter asteroid and started drawing on it with the paint the created by the other asteroids to ease off his core. But something was still bugging his mind.
Ever since the start of the solar system he was to be ignored. Not close to other planets or The Sun like the rocky planets, not big, old and wise like the Gas giants. Even with Neptune, he was the lesser known ice giant because he was "less exciting", as the earthlings worded it. He always thought that was the way things were meant to be. Not until X showed up, and told him that it didn't have to be like 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴. That planets like Jupiter aren’t flawless. That Caelus didn’t have to get ignored!
Nobody cared until X did.
And then X left! Because they guilttripped him! As if nobody else had ever made a mistake before. Like the moons didn’t attack planets! Like the Earth hadn’t been an egocentric prick! As if the gas giants didn't kill early rocky planets and ejected X out of the solar system!
But the second someone else makes mistakes, they're the center of the problem.
𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨!? 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙤𝙨. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙣 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙤 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙤𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜?!
still, Caelus had hurt many because of his fragile little ego. His moons, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn...
But then, why was he still chasing after Planet X? Afterall, Caelus had let himself get manupilated by him. Why? because he gave him a tiny bit of recognition? Was Uranus really this hungry for some attention?
But also he finally had the chance to be something other than a cosmic joke and two people who are supposed to be his “friends” won’t even let him have that because they “like his old name more.”Liked it probably because it kept him as something to laugh at. As if there wasn’t enough about him that made him a joke. His smell, his tilt, his boring atmosphere...
Good riddance! He doesn’t need them! He’ll find X.
𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙢. 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙙𝙤 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙢, 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩 𝙢𝙚?
He... He couldn't go back. No... Not after what happened. But He most likely couldn't be with X either. He was trapped and alone. Again.
*sigh*
the final version of the drawing on the asteroid looked rough and messy. Almost intentional
....
Proxima centauri felt off. Today felt weird. Actually. It had felt weird for quiter some time. Her Brothers Toliman and Rigil were Uncommonly quiet. Thankfully. Her 2 planets, one terrestrial and one Ice giant, we're their usual selves. Just she had drifted into her thoughts she felt a tiny nodge on her back.
"B! What are you doing out of your orbit?"
..
Proxima C was looking around outside of the asteroid belt of their system, off the coasts of the outerspace as His Star Proxima Centauri and neighbor Proxima B were talking.
"hey proxi..."
"oh Bacchus! what's wrong dear?"
"My carbon dioxide levels rised again..."
"Hey, Don't about too much! seasonal changes happens on every planet!"
They were talking about Proxima B's chances of having life. Again. Like always. Their star was trying to be optimistic whereas his neighbor was sad about failing for billions of years.
Othet than that, the system was... quite different today. the asteroids were orbiting slower, the binary stars Toliman and Rigil were... Quiet. Which is really unlike them. and the outerspace looked darker. Somehow. It almost felt like something was coming. And it would. Just not in the way they'd expect it to be.
Chapter 3
Summary:
Uranus is hit by interstellar storm on his way to the proxima centauri system and the rest ig
Notes:
there are extremely scientifically inaccurate depictions of interstellar storms

Chapter Text
traveling, traveling and traveling more was all that Uranus have been doing for the past stars know how long. Luckly, thevery dim light of the binary system close to the smaller star was getting brighter, meaning that he was closer than he thought he was.
The interstellar winds have grown in strength and size. Was it nature or perhaps a blessing in disguise to lead him? He didn't know. He also didn't know where they were coming from but he knew something was coming.
It was an interstellar storm, magnetic fields and swirling cosmic dust so dense it blotted out all light. Days bled into weeks, His magnetic field was indeed strong enough to hold on, but wouldn't last long.
Lucky for him, the storm calmed down not long after he felt like his magnetic field had been torn apart. as his mind starting to clear up, he finally noticed where he was.
the twin stars of Alpha Centauri A and B, and the smaller, Proxima Centauri. He had arrived, finally, at the shores of the system. But how was he gonna announce himself without causing alarm? He was an outsider, after all.
He flew closer to the proxima centauri planetary system. Uranus gently drew back the string of his bow. He did not aim to harm, but to attract. He calculated each shot with precision, arcing arrows of condensed energy and light that streaked, not at any specific body, but the system's outer icy planet.
𝙇𝙚𝙩'𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜...
It worked. A presence materialized before him. It was who he aimed close to, Alpha Centauri C. He has long-ish blue hair, colour similar to that of Neptune's except a bit yellow-ish. He wore a black tank top with denim overalls and was quiet the same size as Uranus but had many more rings. He held a formidable spear, its tip glowing with ruby light of its parent star, Proxima Centauri. This was a weapon born of stellar fire, just as Uranus’s bow was born of his Sun. Alpha Centauri C’s spear threathening Uranus at the eck.
"state your name, Intruder" the planet's voice rang through.
"Uh.. I'm Uranus. And you?"
"Cyparissus" There was slience for a while before Uranus raised his arms.
"who sent you here?" Cyparissus' voice broke the silence
"I sent myself here. I come seeking aid. I come seeking help in a quest to find a planetary friend that got away from our system." Something in that sentence sounded more confident than he wanted to
Cyparissus's eyes sharpened before letting go of the spear, still looking at him with suspicion.
"Proxi will see you.”
.....
As he flew closer to the star with Cyparissus next to him, he felt the eyes of both the planet's on himself. But they soon arrived. Uranus found himself before Proxima Centauri herself, a vibrant, compassionate dwarf star, smaller than his own Sun.
"Proxi! I found an intruder on the way! I'm sure you have felt it by I wanted to bring him to you." As Cyparissus yelled, Proxima centauri turned to look a Uranus. She shooshed Cyparissus away with her hands, signaling him to back off
"What brings you here?"
𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨, 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙨
Uranus took a deep breath before starting
"A planetary sibling called X or Nibiru had ran away from my home system after some events that have occured and I am looking out for him. I wanted to visit your system to seek for help in this journey." He looked away nervously as he finished talking,
"I think I remember your star from the past. I had protected him when my brothers Rigil and Toliman were bullying him. Unfortunately there was a supernova about to happen I had to leave him alone." Proxima centauri talked and explained
“Also your courage to find a lost partner is commendable. I will help you.” Uranus felt a wave of relief so profound it nearly destabilized his core.
The Star continued, “ My own planet, Cyparissus, has longed to see the galaxy. He is adventurous, perhaps too much so for me. I will send him with you." The two planets looked at each other confused.
"The only thing I want from you is to bring back alive when your quest is done. Swear this upon the light of your Star and my own.”
Uranus felt the weight of the promise.
“On the light of Sol, and by the warmth of your own Proxima, I swear it,” Uranus pledged.
"Then don't wait any longer and go on your journey."
Notes:
IM SORRY THIS WAS SO CORNY I-
anyways some AU explanataion.
stars gift their first(and most of the time biggest) planet powers but before any other planet forms to avoid inner conflict. The sun forgotten about this Until the ejection of Planet X and had to give powers to the 4 jovians left to avoid conflict. And by doing that, he cheated off the system of gifting ONLY 1 planet, the first one
Chapter Text
The journey was quiet. Neither planet really wanted to speak at that moment. Just two strangers wandering off in a strange, empty, void…
“I seriously don't get why Proxi did this.” Cyparissus was the one to break the silence, complaining. Again.
“Excuse me?”
“You're an intruder, and a stranger nobody yet she left me with you! Why? Well only because she knows your star apparently!?”
“Mate, I didn't want this either, but needs come before wants, ya know!”
“Oh, how so exactly, mister ur-aoh-nus?” Cyparissus mocked his name. Huh.
“I would have frozen to death if it wasn't for proxima centauri's help right now! And you're here as a price, being all useless company, I suppose!”
Cyparissus really wanted to beat the crap out of him right now, but resisted. Somewhat.
He grabbed Uranus by his collar and brought out his spear, its end glowing crimson red, threatening Uranus by his neck.
“Listen, I'm only here because Proxi doesn’t let us go outside the system unless it is a mission! So just let me have this in peace, without having to kill you”
“H-huh.. Well i guess it won't be for long”
“It wouldn't have to be if you won't be a dick”
That made Uranus chuckle:
“Well I guess then you won't be dissapointed”
“I hope so,” Cyparissus said, dropping the other down and un-summoning(is that a word?) His spear.
Once down, Uranus fixed his posture as they went on to their drifting journey. There was an uncomfortable silence for some time, but it wasn't exactly tensious.
By the time they actually got out of the minor stellar system, both planets were already mentally drained. So they took a short break before continuing to go onwards.
“Cy! You're here” a moon-like terrestrial object came out of nowhere, suddenly.
“Hey there, kiddo. You weren't supposed to follow me here” oh. So it was Cyparissus’ moon. Or at least it seemed to be.
“They're okay! Oh look! Ampelos is here as well!"
Another moon came out, older and bigger than the other.
“Phobeus. how many times do i- hi Cy. Also Who's that?" Ampelos asked when he saw Uranus
“Oh. Proxi sent me on a mission with this guy.”
“Oh!”
After some time, they went back to their journey.
For a while, their journey went on as really calm and empty. Until they saw a weird system with one yellow dwarf and gas giant.
