Chapter Text
(With The Night Class)
(No One's POV)
"Who does that cutie think she is!" Aido says to himself as he sketches himself and Marie kissing. "Thinking she can ignore me!"
"What's this?" a male student says and grabs the sketch book from Aido. "Are y-"
It was clear Aido was in love with Marie Kiyruu with the pages upon pages of sketches of her.
Aido snatched it from her. "Ruko!" He snaps at the other male vampire. "Do you wish to die!" He demands.
"I am not the one being the creep over a human. It is clear you are a creepy stalker," Ruko tells him.
(My Co-Author: Someone get her a restraining order for this man!)
(Me: XD)
He had a hint of disgust in his voice. Why wouldn't he? Not only was it of a human..if you can still call her that. But also- there are tens of pages of these doodles..
Honestly, it... was kind of disturbing. How many other books did he have like this?
No. Actually, he didn't want to know the answer to that.
"What?! No! I'd destroy that disciplinary committee in a second if they'd just let me! You hear me?! I could easily beat them!" Aido proclaimed, trying to bury the accusations.
"As true as the might be, that red headed woman, she looks, very tasty and yummy~" Senri says and the class froze.
Rimo sighed and looked at him. "Time to feed."
Aido scoffed that Senri had no right to talk about his marie like that.
Rimo pulled out the packet of his blood tablets, pulling out two and throwing them in the air for Shiki to catch.
Which he did so. It wasn't that good, but it was sustenance.
"Lord Kuran. I've noticed. You seem to be quite interested in those two." Ruko said, turning to face Kaname.
"Yes. You're right." He said, confirming it as Ruko held the corner of the notebook he'd stolen right on Aido's hand.
"That hurts. That hurts. That hurts. That hurts! Ruko! Do you want to die?!" He growled.
"The moon will soon be obscured by the clouds," Kaname said, turning to face the window.
"Yes," Takuma said, glancing over his shoulder. "It will soon be our time."
"The night was made for vampires," Kaname said as his eyes burned bright red, and the others followed.
(Scene change)
Marie let out a groan as she held her head, trying to keep quiet as she watched Yuko run to the fountain, shoving his face in the water.
She could hear his heart from here...he probably ran into Kaname Kuran.
Truth was she had a crush on her classmate and best friend. It drove her nuts when he woul fawn over Kaname, why could he not see Marie the way she sees Him. Oh Yuko. She looks at the blood tablets in her hand and does her best to take them.
-Time Skip-
Marie was snoozing on her desk and so was Yuko. In fact the teacher was calling Yuko name. It took sayori whispering to Marie that they were having stir dry for lunch.
"Time to chow down!" He says with a huge grin, only to falter when he sees his teacher.
"Honestly, between you and Marie." He tells him. "The committee must be very taxing for you two."
"Hah- no. It's alright. I can handle it." Yuki said with a big old smile as Marie laid her head back down.
Of course, that response earned Yuko a one way ticket to staying after class. She almost felt bad enough to stay behind..
But not bad enough.
She instead left, heading to the stables to pet Lily and take a nap on the hay.
It wasn't until later, when Lily licked up her face, that Marie woke up.
"Nn..what..?" She muttered before hearing a familiar voice. "Aha! I found you at last! Guardians should set an example and not skip out early." Yuko said, approaching Marie only for Lily to let out an agitated neig,h causing Yuko to scream.
That horse was the devil in disguise.
"Easy there, Lily... calm down. He's a very simple and uncomplicated man. He's by no means a threat to you...even if he tried to be." She muttered the last part, pressing her face to the horse, who seemed to manage to glare at Yuko from Over Marie's shoulder.
"What did you just say?!" Yuko asked, insulted, but she ignored that.
"So, you came to bring me back to class?" She asked as Yuko huffed and looked away.
"No. It's over. You can't skip out when we have to stay late." He said before pulling out Marie's arm band. "Now, it's time for us to go and patrol the switch over." He said as Marie looked over at him for a moment..
And suddenly took the band, looking away from Yuko.
"Yeah. I know that." She muttered, pulling it up her arm and walking away as Yuko looked at her.
He then turned back to Lily. "You know, Marie sleeps like a baby when she is next to you." He took a step forward and then Lily scared him off and Lily hid those blood tablets.
It was a question of whether she knew or not.
They were now on patrol, and Yuko was looking into the night class. Staring at Kaname.
"How is Kaname Kuran?" Marie asks. "I know he is your hero." She almost spat out.
"I was not just looking at Kaname!" Yuko cries out in defense.
Marie stopped and then looked down and away. She wasn't going to push it again right now.
Yuko suddenly rushed over to peer over the walls. "So far, so good. Seems to me the night class is behaving just fine this evening. And it looks like no one from the day class is wandering around either. All in all, it's a peaceful night. Safe and sound at the academy."
Marie looked down. "Come on... do you really believe that? You honestly think that things are going well between the day class and night class?"
"Of course I do, it is my hope that vampires and humans can all get along some day. That is what we do here at this acadmey me and you, to make sure they get along." Yuko says.
Marie shook her head. "I am not here to make peace with them. They are all not the worst, but if they ever bite a human, I will kill them."
Marie went inside, and Yuko sighed. Marie had been bursing that darkness in her fir six years now. She had seen the worse of vampires, and Yuko hoped one day she could accept them."
He looks down and sees the day class girls, and he sighs.
He tried to get them to disperse and go back to their dorms. And hey, maybe it would have been alright...
Had he not noticed one of them was bleeding? And just as he feared. They were no longer alone.
She turned quickly as he pulled out Artemis, turning only for it to be grabbed.
He saw Hanabusa and Akatsuki.
"So scary. The headmaster has trained you well." Akatsuki said simply, gripping the staff as it sparked.
The girls were, of course, fangirling, but Yuko was on guard. "No need for all this stuff," Aido says and moves Artemis away from them. "We just came out here because we smelled blood. You are so mean, Yuko. Nothing like Marie~ You know the real reason we are here~"
His eyes turned red, and Yuko stood his ground.
"Mmmm~ You smell so nice, but not as nice as Marie~" He comments.
Aido moved his hand and was now pulling Yuko's hand to him. "The sweet smell of your blood is so tempting~" He said and sank his fangs into his hand.
Yuko dropped his staff and then started to push Aido away from him, but Aido was much stronger.
"Stop right now!" He cried out as the girls passed out, and that is when Marie showed up. Jumping down onto the ground.
"What the hell do you think you are doing, aido!" She demands.
She didn't even let Aido get a word out before she reached into her jacket and pulled out her gun, accidentally nicking herself on a broken chain she'd been meaning to fix.
Though she hardly noticed.
"Drinking blood on school grounds is strictly forbidden." She said coldly, but Aido wasn't really listening..
Not while blood was running down her hand.
It seemed at that point, she noticed, her eyes flickering down and then back to the two vampires, noticing their eyes on her.
"What? Has the smell of blood made you lose control, vampire? Can you truly not help yourself?" She asked, her voice cold.
However, she didn't prepare herself for being grabbed instead.
She cried out as she was pinned into a tree, and her hands were held firmly in place. "Oh, I wonder how much better you taste than Yuko~" He said as he dug his fangs into her hand.
She groaned and tried to pull it away from him, but he did not let her, and so she did the only thing she could: she shot her gun, almost shooting him in his head. Yuko was fast enough to pull Aido off and lift Marie's arm.
"Marie! You can't shoot him!"
He cries out.
Marie's eyes were wide as she could smell Yuko's blood. She had to shake her head to regain control fully.
"Is everything alright here?" Kaname voice came and Marie saw him standing by Aido who was frozen.
"Your little blondie," Marie says. "He had not only Yuko's blood by mine as well. You best keep him on a better leash, Kaname."
It was the first time she'd really used his first name. In a long time at least. Usually it was Kuran. Or vampire. Leech. Beast. But usually she didn't use his first name..
"Ah. I see." He said calmly as Akatsuki put his palm on his face. What had Aido gotten himself into? Or him, for that matter.
He suddenly placed his hand on Aido's shoulder, his hand gripping the younger vampire's shoulder tightly as he offered Marie a smile.
"I'll take these two fools to the headmaster's office personally. There, they will receive their punishment." Kaname said as Marie was using her arm band to stop the bleeding. She wished Yuko would try to stop his...
"I don't care what you do...keep that vampire away from me. Or next time, I won't miss." She said. Yuko stopped as he looked at her.
She sounded angry...but..if you knew her, then you know it's not really anger. She was afraid. She won't show it, but she was horrified. He knew it. She probably was remembering that night if he had to guess..
"Of course." He picks Aido up like he was nothing. "You two should head to the headmaster's office to get cleaned up."
Marie turned and grabbed Yuko hand pulling him. "Come on this place smells like blood and they like it! More proof that they are beasts in human form." She says and Yuko knew Marie is feeling lots of things.
He wished he had been more of a help and that he could have stopped Aido.
Marie was cleaning up the bnadages. Yuko was in the shower most likely almost done. So she could go and clean off now that the bleeding has stopped.
Yuko was blow drying his hair as he looked at himself in the mirror.
'Marie... she won't let anyone get too close. Tonight ...was the first time I realized how scared she was. For a brief moment, she let that facade slip, and I saw her fear..' he turned off the dryer as he sighed.
'What can I do? How do I help her? It feels like each day she pulls further and further away from me. From everyone..what's going on with-'
He stopped suddenly as the door opened, and Marie walked in casually, brushing her hair.
"Ah- you- you can't come barging in like that!" Yuko exclaimed, reaching for a towel and wrapping it around himself. Technically, he was in his tank top and boxers- but still. Having Marie see him in a state of undress..
"It isn't my fault the bath in my dorm closes at dusk. The headmaster's bath is all I can use." She said softly as she placed her brush down along with her towel and nightgown and began to unbutton her shirt in front of the mirror.
His face went bright red as he could see her collar bone in the reflection, and he took his towel and threw it over her.
"Mar!" He cries out. "You cannot do that! Stripping in front of a man!"
She just moved his towel off of her, and he looked at her.
"Wait.... You are thinking it does not matter because you don't see me as a real man... right? Typical." He tells her.
She sighs, and he starts to do his hair once more.
"We both were attacked by vampires."He says. "The way Aido talked about your blood, he said how tasty it smelled and how he wanted it more. It makes me wonder, why would he want a taste of your blood? Does it really taste good? Just means we have to be more careful. Those guys can bite me all they want, but you! I won't ever let anyone bite you again o-"
The door to the shower closed; she must really want to shower.
-With Aido and Akatsuki-
Hanabusa pulled out his tablet pack, dropping one in the water as it separated and dissolved, turning the once clear water a pinkish red shade.
"Suspended for ten days. For a taste of Yukos..no, for a taste of Marie's blood, it was totally worth it." He said as he leaned back while his cousin, Akatsuki, looked at him.
"I wouldn't let Dorm President Kuran hear you say that..." he muttered, leaning against the couch in the lobby of the dorm.
"Say..Hanabusa..I don't understand you. You claim to hate that girl, and yet you dedicate so much time and energy into getting her attention..it's..almost pathetic." He muttered.
"Ah- you wouldn't understand, Akatsuki. It's a game we play." Hanabusa said, lifting the glass and drinking from it. It tasted nothing like blood. They would still have to work on that..
"A game? It seems like you're the only one playing that game. Unless getting your head blown off was part of it." Akatsuki said, crossing his arms.
"No, she did not mean that. I just must have scared her..." He did look a bit regretful. He could taste it in her blood. He did scare her, and that was not his intention.
"She did look terrifed for a second." Akatsuki almost growled out, it was there for a second, that is why he did not step in, the pure look of terror in her blue eyes. It was there for only a second but you could tell no matter how much she hates the vampires she also feared them on some level. Aido had brought that terror and fear to the surface.
There was no doubt about it. From now on until... maybe ever, it wouldn't be the same as before. Hanabusa had lost control. He'd bitten her. That fear and that anger she felt..had been confirmed in that moment.
"It was lucky..that Dorm President Kuran was there.." Akatsuki muttered. He had a feeling they only would have made it worse should they have tried to fix it.
"But, Hanabusa, don't ever do that again." Akatsuki warned. Based on the way Kaname had grabbed him, they were lucky to still be around..
"I know..But..her blood..it was different.. I just.." "Hanabusa." Akatsuki said as he heard Kaname approaching, bowing his head in his direction, and only looking up when there was a resounding smack through the air.
"You just?" Kaname's voice was stern, it wasn't the calm and collected tone they were all accustomed to.
"I-I..I'm so sorry." Hanabusa muttered, gripping his pants as Kaname simply walked up the stairs and up to the window, where he could watch the two guardians from. The uncomfortable sensation in his eyes from the sun was worth it...
