When You're Down Let Me Run To Your Aid

Summary:

After the moon crashed into Hermitcraft Server Xisuma falls back into bad Admin habits without the accountability of his server mates coming to check on him.

Said server mates have a way to check on him anyway.

Xavier would fight every demon in Xisuma's head if he was able to do so.

He’d been the very last person to leave the season 8 server, he had to make sure that all of the Hermits, all of his players, got off the server and to a private server or Iskall’s vault hunters server or Empires, just that they went somewhere safe.

 

He landed in his private server, shaking, he realized belatedly.

 

He was the Admin of Hermitcraft. The safest server in all the realms, he was supposed to stop this from happening.

 

‘You were mindcontrolled for a bit,’ A voice that sounded like Keralis said.

 

How could he have missed this, how in the void had it gotten to the point that Boatem had to point it out without him noticing prior.

 

He’d failed, failed miserably as an Admin.

 

First, ten of his players got taken by the Watchers, eight for the second time, then the world got destroyed by the moon because he couldn’t do his one job.

 

He felt a tear slip down his cheek and he ripped off his helmet before he started sobbing.

 

He collapsed onto the ground, curling into himself as he resting on his knees. Tears ran down his cheeks at a rapid rate.

 

He’d had to ban his brother, Hermits were taken , and the world got destroyed. He’d failed again and again and again.

 

Once he stopped being stupid and got over his own irrational emotions he managed to get up and head into the house he and his brother had built.

 

He was on autopilot as he changed out of his armor and into softer clothes. His private world was full of void air so he could breath without his helmet and his armor wasn’t necessary for safety.

 

He then began to look for a world for the next season, for his Players even if he didn’t deserve the title of their admin.

 

He was so tired but he worked even as his eyes turned bleary and his body started to hurt.

 

 

‘Keralis: We’re safe’

‘Keralis: Sheshwhammy?’

‘Keralis: Did you get out?’

‘Keralis: Sheshwham?’

‘Keralis: You’re worrying us’

‘Keralis: X did you get to your private server?’

‘Keralis: Xisuma?’

 

‘Away from Voidwalker eyes’

‘Keralis1: Has anyone heard anything from Sheshwhammy?’

 

‘ZombieCleo: I haven’t’

 

‘Grian: I got a confirmation message about Boatem’s safety but that’s been it.’

 

‘BdoubleO100: You didn’t get a message from him K?’

 

‘Keralis1: I haven’t, he’s not responding to me.’

 

‘TangoTek: I’ll look for his code to make sure he got out.’

 

‘Keralis1: Thank you Tango.’

 

‘Joehills: Alright, with X not responding I’m doing my own roll call.’

‘Joehills: Boatem?’

 

‘Grian: We all got out, me, Pearl, and Mumbo are on Mumbo’s redstone testing world for the moment. Impulse went to Tango’s and Scar went with Cub.’

 

‘Joehills: Alright, Big Eyes?’

 

‘Keralis1: I’m on my private world, Tango’s on his private server, and Bdubs went to Etho’s.’

 

‘Joehills: Octagon?’

 

‘Docm77: We’re on Etho’s private server for the moment.’

 

‘Joehills: Swamp Ladies?’

 

‘GeminiTay: Stress and False went to Vault Hunters and I’m on Empires, Pearl’s gonna join me soon.’

 

‘Joehills: Cliff boys?’

 

‘EthosLab: Iskall’s on Vault, I’m on my private server.’

 

‘Joehills: Horse Head?’

 

‘hypnotized: Both me and xB are on our private servers.’

 

‘Joehills: I know Cleo’s safe so the other Evil Empire guys?’

 

‘Welsknight: Jev went to his private server, Beef’s on Etho’s private server, and I’m on my private server with Hels and Ex.’

 

‘Joehills: Cub, Zed, TFC?’

 

‘TinfoilChef: Private server’

 

‘Cubfan135: On my private server with Scar, left with Boatem’

 

‘ZedaphPlays: On Tango’s server!’

 

‘Joehills: Alright, everyone but X is accounted for.’

 

‘iJevin: What do we do?’

 

‘Keralis1: Keep reaching out to him. Tango’s looking into finding his code. We have to believe he got out.’

 

‘GoodTimesWithScar: Aye, aye, Papa K.’

 

 

‘MumboJumbo: X? K says you didn’t send in a check in message.’

‘MumboJumbo: Are you alright?’

‘MumboJumbo: Xisuma?’

‘MumboJumbo: We all got out, please let us know you did too.’

‘MumboJumbo: X, please’

‘Mumbo Jumbo: Are you alright?’

‘MumboJumbo: Please’

‘MumboJumbo: X’

 

“He’s not responding to me,” He said aloud, “What if he didn’t get out.”

 

“I’m sure he did,” Grian assured, “He’s smart, he got himself out I’m sure.”

 

“But what if he didn’t?” He asked.

 

Grian looked over at him, “You can’t think like that Mums. He got out, he’s a very capable admin.”

 

He stared at his communicator wanting, wishing for a response.

 

Grian pulled him into a hug.

 

 

He managed to get Mumbo to sleep and sent one message to his admin.

 

‘Grian: Please respond to us X, we’re worried about you. It’s not your fault.’

 

 

“Ex!” He called out.

 

“What the fuck do you want?!” Ex called back.

 

He rolled his eyes, having Hels and Ex on his server was mildly infuriating, “Come here!”

 

Both Ex and Hels showed up in the living room.

 

“What do you want?” Ex asked again.

 

“No one can get in contact with your brother after the server collapse,” He said.

 

Ex’s eyes went wide under his helmet and he froze, “What?”

 

“The last known communication with Xisuma was the confirmation of Boatem’s safety,” He said, “We’ve been told to keep trying to get in contact with him.”

 

“You haven’t gotten anything?” Hels asked, “Not even Mumbo?”

 

“No one, Keralis, Mumbo, Grian, Joe, any of us,” He confirmed, “Tango’s looking for his code.”

 

“I’ll go check the private server,” Ex said, “I’m probably the only other Player in the voiddamned world who has access to it.”

 

He nodded.

‘Welsknight: Ex is going to check X’s private server.’

 

‘Keralis1: Wonderful.’

 

‘Joehills: Sounds good.’

 

He watched Ex leave, swallowing all of his nerves about his admin and friend.

Notes:

Yeah, finally addressing what happened with Iskall, I didn't want to bring any of my other fics down with it but this one mentions him and that's the most any of my fics will do. Not that I wrote much with him anyway.
As for Stress, probably the same unless she's a really important part of a season I'm writing in since I didn't write much of her anyway, I hope she's doing well.

He appeared in his and his brother’s private server, glancing around to see if Xisuma even made it into the house.

 

He also checked the tab list and tried not to collapse in relief at the sight of his brother’s name.

 

‘Hermitcraft’

‘EvilXisuma: He’s here.’

 

‘Keralis1: Oh thank the Gods’

 

He looked around and saw Xisuma’s helmet on the ground. “Shit, this’ll be worse than I thought.” And he already thought it would be bad.

 

He grabbed the helmet and headed into the house.

 

The living room and the kitchen looked untouched, which made him frown, had his brother been eating in the two days since the server collapsed, had he slept?

 

Xisuma’s door was shut.

 

He knocked before opening and entering the room.

 

Xisuma was sat at his desk admin panels opened and from what he could see from the doorway, was searching for a new server for the next season of Hermitcraft.

 

“‘Suma?” He called.

 

Xisuma jumped turning to look at him.

 

He set Xisuma’s helmet to the side, on the dresser and took his own off.

 

“‘avier, what are you doing here?” Xisuma asked. He hadn’t slept he could tell by the bags beneath his light violet eyes.

 

“Checking on you since you haven’t been responding to your friends, worrying them,” He answered easily.

 

He set his helmet to the side and walked over to Xisuma.

 

Upon getting closer he could see that Xisuma had been crying at some point.

 

Xisuma’s eyes went wide grabbing his communicator that was full of worried messages from pretty much every Hermit.

 

He plunked the comm out of Xisuma’s hands before locking them both out of it for a half hour which also took down the admin panels.

 

“I need that!” Xisuma immediately protested.

 

He pocketed the comm and said, “The only thing you need is some food and sleep.”

 

“I have to-!” Xisuma started.

 

“Take care of yourself,” He cut off, “Glad you agree X.”

 

“I need to do my job,” Xisuma insisted.

 

“Which you can do after some self care,” He said firmly. He spun his twin’s chair all the way around and pulled him up by his wrists.

 

“Xavier,” Xisuma argued, trying to break free, “Let me do my job.”

 

“Hmm…” He pretended to think then, “No, I don’t think I will.”

 

“‘avier,” Xisuma tried.

 

He pulled Xisuma all the way to the kitchen and sat him on a barstool of the island. “Look ‘Suma, either you can do as I say and we get through this quickly or you can fight me and we’ll end up at Keralis’.”

 

Xisuma glared at him.

 

He grinned and went about making them both some dinner.

 

Xisuma eventually sighed, “When do I get my comm back.”

 

“For work purposes? Tomorrow. For messaging your friends? After food, a shower, and we’re going to be laying down to sleep,” He answered.

 

Xisuma groaned.

 

Soon enough he was setting food on the island in front of his brother.

 

Xisuma looked blearily at the food.

 

“Eat ‘Suma,” He prompted.

 

“‘m tired,” Xisuma said.

 

“I know,” He agreed, “But you need to eat first.”

 

Xisuma started to eat slowly, the sleepless nights were finally catching up with him it seemed.

 

He ate as well, cleaning up the mess he’d made while waiting for Xisuma to finish eating.

 

He also debated letting Xisuma skip the shower and just letting him go to sleep.

 

Once Xisuma was done eating he asked his twin gently, “Do you want to shower or just go to sleep?”

 

Xisuma blinked then asked quietly, “Shower tomorrow?”

 

He smiled, “Sure Bug, lets go change.”

 

Xisuma followed him.

 

He pressed a kiss to Xisuma’s forehead, “Go get some pj’s on, I’ll be in, in a minute.”

 

Xisuma nodded and went into his room.

 

He went into his own room, taking off his armor and changing into pjs.

 

He set what was equivalent to parental locks on Xisuma’s comm, only giving him access to the messaging app.

 

He returned to Xisuma’s room.

 

Xisuma was dressed in pajamas standing in the middle of his room.

 

He got Xisuma into the bed and handed back his twin’s comm.

 

 

Staring at all the messages he’d ignored made him feel worse, “‘m a bad friend.”

 

“You’re a wonderful friend, Bug,” Xavier assured from next to him.

 

He shook his head.

 

“Answer them,” Xavier prompted.

 

‘Hermitcraft’

‘XisumaVoid: Sorry for the worry! I’m safe’

 

‘TangoTek: So good to hear from you.’

 

‘Welsknight: Never do that again.’

 

‘Grian: Glad to have you back.’

 

‘GeminiTay: Glad you’re okay X!’

 

‘BdoubleO100: We missed you!’

 

‘GoodTimesWithScar: Make sure you rest!’

 

‘iJevin: We love you X’

 

‘MumboJumbo: Thank the Gods.’

 

‘Keralis1: What happened was not your fault’

 

He closed his comm, he wanted to sleep and not deal with the mess of emotions within him.

 

“Why were you working yourself to death?” Xavier asked.

 

He hid his face in his older brother’s chest not wanting to talk about that.

 

“Bug, come on,” Xavier tried.

 

He shook his head.

 

Xavier pressed a kiss to the top of his forehead, “I can hear you overthinking.”

 

“I don’t deserve to be an admin,” He admitted quietly.

 

“Why the hell not?” Xavier asked.

 

“My Players got taken and I couldn’t catch the moon glitch in time,” He explained.

 

Xavier winced before saying, carefully running a hand through his hair, “You were mindcontrolled for a good chunk of time ‘Suma, that’s not your fault.”

 

Tears burned in his eyes again, as he shook his head.

 

“No, Bug, listen to me,” Xavier said pulling him back enough that they could see each other, “You are a brilliant, clever, kind, and wonderfully funny admin. This is the first time one of your servers have ever collapsed and it’s been what 7 or so servers? That’s a wonderful track record. Your servers are the safest in all the realms and yeah, you missed one thing but people make mistakes. You made sure all of your Players were safe before getting out yourself. You absolutely deserve the title of admin.”

 

His tears overflowed, he sobbed.

 

Xavier pulled him into a hug, “Shh, Bug, you’re okay. So many people love you so much. You are worth so much more, your players, your hermits, are your friends, your family.”

 

He calmed down to Xavier’s steady, calm voice.

 

“Sorry,” He said quietly.

 

“No sorries Bug,” Xavier insisted, “You have nothing to be sorry for.”

 

“‘M so tired,” He begged.

 

“You can sleep now ‘Suma,” Xavier, his big brother, promised, “You’re safe.”

 

He fell asleep in Xaiver’s arms.
