Chapter Text
The sound of busy, crowded school hallways filled Nicholas’ ears as he stepped into the building with Cooper by his side. His last two months of suspension had felt like prison, trapped in the same four walls and being delivered food at his door by his drunk mother.
Before he had left the house, he got a lecture from his father about how this was the last month to straighten up and keep the Princeton scholarship since he was graduating later in the year. Nicholas had given attitude which resulted in a quick, hard punch to the face.
Cut to now, Nicholas was wearing some fashionable outfit topped with black designer sunglasses to cover the black eye that was so kindly gifted by his father. Cooper tried to soothe his eye but the other just pushed him away, saying that it was common and that he was used to it. Nicholas never showed his emotions, he had this ‘tough guy’ act he needed to keep up.
Though, He thought deeply, and often too about everything and anything. Nicholas’ brain never shut off. School, stress, his parents, his past that haunted him, violent thoughts and depressive thoughts, but also happy thoughts. Though recently, his violent thoughts grew more and more.
Nichlas needed to kill. It had been months since his last killing and it was eating him from the inside out to do it again. The plan he made for the murder of his parents was perfect to him. Nicholas couldn’t deal with the abuse anymore, he was sick of flinching, sick of covering bruises and black eyes and even cuts when glass items were thrown at him.
“--I was thinking It’d be a great end to this hell.” Cooper said, pulling Nicholas out of his own mind. The boy just nodded, not having a clue what Cooper was talking about. Cooper noticed him acting weird, raising an eyebrow. “Are you good, Nick?”
Nicholas replied more quicker than normal. “Yeah, Great. Why?”
“You just seem.. In your head.”
“I’m not.”
“If you say so..” Cooper stopped in front of his second period class. Nicholas could feel the sharp eyes of Cooper scanning him over once more. “Well, I’ll see you at lunch?”
Nicholas nodded before turning around and made his way through the halls to his class. He dodged a few grabby hands from girls in the hallways which wasn’t like him but he was in his head and just wanted things done.
All throughout his 2nd period math class, Nicholas sat in his own loud thoughts. Tonight seemed too early, but next week seemed too far. By the time the bell rang throughout the school notifying the class was over, he made up his mind.
Tonight.
–
During the hour of lunch, Cooper’s eyes widened as he sat in the passenger seat of Nicholas’ Porsche, sandwich in hand. “Tonight? Are you insane?” The boy spat out, confused.
Nicholas rolled his eyes, “Listen, I thought it all out. Craig is having that huge end of school party tonight, alright? We go to my house, do the murder, and then go to the party. Boom, murder happened and we have an alibi in case the cops go looking.”
Cooper shook his head in disbelief, placing his sandwich on the front dash. “Why don’t we go to the party first? Isn’t it weird we show up mid-way through?”
“If we show up first, then leave and then just minutes later my parents randomly get murdered. That would look suspicious. We can go to some place first, like a movie or something, leave half way and then do it.”
Silence filled the car, until a giggle slipped out of Cooper. “Wow, you really planned this whole thing out huh?”
“Yes, I do. I also…” Nicholas twisted in his seat, reaching in the backseat before pulling out a plastic grocery bag. He handed it off to the boy. “found these the other day. We can just blame it on the.. serial killer.”
Cooper opened the bag, grinning widely seeing the two long white face masks staring up at him. “Good thinking… god you’re so hot when you plan murders out.”
Nicholas cringed slightly. “Shut up.”
“So tonight?”
“Tonight.”
–
The night came quickly it seemed, and Nicholas sat out front of Cooper’s house waiting for the boy inside. He skipped happily down the driveway, opened the door and plopped in the seat.
“Well hello my knight in shining amour!” Cooper teasingly said, buckling his seatbelt.
“You’re stupid.” Nicholas grumbled to himself, before speeding off. The plan was to go to a movie, watch half of it and leave, go kill his parents, and then go to the huge party that was happening. Get a before and after alibi, to not get caught.
Nicholas spent the ride to the movies explaining the plan to Cooper once more, the boy nodding along as he kicked his feet up on the dash but quickly got swatted down by Nicholas.
Once they got to the theatre, they bought tickets to a showing of the newest movie ‘pulp fiction.’ One thing about Nicholas was that he was a big movie watcher. He admired cinema. As the two of them sat down, Nicholas glanced over to Cooper when he heard chewing noises only to see him shoving handfuls of popcorn into his mouth. He gave him a glare, and Cooper slowly turned towards him.
Mouth half full of popcorn, “...what?”
“Really? We’re about to murder my parents, and you’re chomping on goddamn popcorn?”
Cooper slowly chewed, before swallowing thickly. “Sorry.. You’re so on edge, you need to chill.”
–
Half of the movie went by quickly, mainly because at some point Cooper got in between Nicholas’ legs to help ‘ease his nerves’ and gave him a life changing blowjob. Nicholas thanked God that the theater was mostly empty, and they were at the very back.
They soon left, trying to avoid anyone seeing them in case their alibi falls through. Before Nicholas got in the front seat, he walked around to the back and opened the trunk, glaring at the two guns that laid side by side. Tears welded up in Nicholas’ eyes, he was finally going to end all of the abuse that he endured for years.
Shutting the trunk, he walked back around and climbed into the driver's seat while letting out a sigh. “Let’s do this.” He grinned over at the boy who sat in the passenger seat, who happily returned the toothy grin. The drive to Nicholas’ house was filled with the boys poorly singing along to the radio, songs like ‘blame it on the rain’ and ‘i’m gonna miss you’ played.
When they pulled up, the house was dimly lit from the inside, seeing shadows in the kitchen window. In sync, they both sighed quietly and got out together. Nicholas’ hands trembled slightly as he picked up the rifle and examined it. He felt a hand on his shoulder, and he looked over.
“Now, or never, Nick.”
Nicholas nodded, handing the other rifle to him. “Let’s end this pain.”
They walked up the driveway, Nicholas first through the door with Cooper following shortly behind.
–
Gunshots.
Blood.
Cries.
It all was a blur to Nicholas as he left down the driveway quickly, going to his car. He practically threw himself into his seat, slamming the door and resting his head into his hands. The boy could cry. Years and Years of constant abuse, whether it be verbal or physical, was ended. The curse had been broken, but at what cost?
Cooper slammed the trunk where he placed the guns and got into the passenger seat, looking over at Nicholas. A frown formed on his face, Nicholas wasn’t the type to show emotions unless it was anger or frustration. Though, Cooper knew it was best not to comment because he'd probably get a smack.
Inside, they had changed quickly and washed the blood that had splattered on their face before they went to the car. Nicholas lifted his head, taking a deep breath before putting a smile on his face. “Let’s go to this end of year party!” and before Cooper could reply, they sped off down the road, back to civilization and neighborhoods. Nicholas liked the fact the house was away from people, they couldn't hear him as a little boy wailing because his father had hit him may times but now, they couldn't hear the shots.
–
Music could be heard from down the block of where the house was, Already giving Nicholas a headache that was already lingering from the gunshots being so loud. Cooper got out first, walking up to the house where couples had been hooking up or making out, while Nicholas stood by the car for a second as he composed himself. Nicholas made his way up to where cooper stood and stared by at him. "Let's have a fun time, Nick."
As they walked in, people were dancing in the living room to the blasting music, others were talking in the corner and on the couch while people drag others upstairs to go hook up. Nicholas grinned seeing craig walk over to the two.
"Well, Finally! I though Y'all weren't coming which shocked me." The boy spoke loudly over the music.
"Of course we'd come to the king of parties party, We were just caught up at a movie." Cooper said with a grin.
Craig nodded, "glad you boys made it, there's drinks in the kitchen, and some fun nose powder in the lounge room over there." Craig had grinned as Cooper and Nicholas exchanged looks.
Nicholas nodded, patting the boy on the shoulder. "Thanks, craig. We'll definitely go check it out."
And with that, Nicholas grabbed Cooper and dragged him to where the fun was. Nicholas used the card, made the line and bending down to snort it up.
1 line.
2 lines.
3 lines.
The buzz came quickly to Nicholas, watching Cooper mirror his actions as he cheered him on. Things blurred together, like his world had gone quiet for a brief moment. He danced with Cooper, with his wandering hands. Normally, he was cautious with acting like this with Cooper in public, but he was surrounded by drunk and intoxicated teenagers who wouldn't remember anything if they saw something. Cooper grinded up against Nicholas, while Nicholas grabbed his waist and pulled him closer. Without thinking, he started to suck at Cooper's neck, swaying with the music.
The night went on, they both got more lines in and a few drinks too. Around 2am, Cooper suggested they got out of there and spend the night at Cooper's, so in the morning they could call it in. Cooper's parents had been on vacation so the house was empty when they stumbled in, intoxicated to the max. Things had gotten heated and the boys ended up in Cooper's bed, clothes discarded on the floor and Cooper's head was on Nicholas bare chest.
The night was a success, and it felt like weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Nicholas didn't have to be afraid anymore.
Tomorrow, Nicholas had to figure out what to say to the police when he calls.
