Summary
It’s 1955, in the heat of the Cold War. Dr. Ernst Ludwig is a government chemist working for the United States, attempting to right a terrible wrong. Mikhail Kuznetsov is a Russian counterintelligence agent, sent from the USSR to investigate the truth of potential new American weapons. Neither of them are quite who they say they are and both are desperate to survive. When Mikhail Kuzentsov is assigned to assist an unwilling Ernst Ludwig with his English, an unexpected friendship blooms as the two men discover they are not as alone in the world as they previously thought.

well-researched historical fic that makes me so so angry (not at the writing, the writing is *phenomenal*) about . heritage. and Things. Also it’s always super fucking cool to see Jewish medic, I don’t trust myself to write him as such (being Christian myself, I also do not have very much experience with Jewish practices) but the timeline of tf2 just SCREAMS at me about fleeing homelands and forging new identities and leaving things behind for the sake of survival and. And. And I just really fucking hate nazis . And not to get current event-y on a bookmark but it’s HAPPENING AGAIN RIGHT FUCKIGN NOW and we’re just LETTING IT and I have so . So . SO much FUCKING rage
