“Do you believe in soulmates?” It was a question you always asked him, you liked to believe that the two of you were meant for each other. Hobie didn’t really believe in things like that, he didn’t believe in much actually. Most of the time he would tease you about it, but now he wished that he didn’t.
It had been a year since the worst day of his life, the day he failed to protect you. Hobie never thought that he would ever see you again but one day traveling the multiverse, he saw you again…or more accurately a version of you.
Turns out you are soulmates, you’re each other’s “canon events” as Miguel put it. The both of you are always destined to fall in love but you could never be together, it’s just how things have to be. Unfortunately for Miguel, Hobie doesn’t believe in consistency.
