It's Mu Qing's birthday and Feng Xin wants to throw his boyfriend the best celebration ever. To do that, he wants to make Mu Qing's favorite cake, one his mom used to make him for his birthday before he moved out. Thus, Feng Xin attempts to bake a cake despite never having baked one before... but it's just a cake. How hard could it be?

Summary
It’s a measure of how tired he is that Feng Xin only manages a couple of vague curses as he stumbles through the door of their apartment. “Fucking econ” and something about exams being the spawn of demons is about all Mu Qing makes out before Feng Xin takes half a dozen steps and collapses on the couch.
Mu Qing lifts his Ancient History textbook just in time for Feng Xin’s head to replace it on his lap, thinking it would serve him right if he’d been just a few seconds too slow. “I did tell you to sleep last night,” he reminds Feng Xin pointedly. “And the night before. You’re the one who chose not to listen.” He lowers his textbook to rest on Feng Xin’s head rather than holding it awkwardly in mid air. If Feng Xin happens to sigh happily at the feel of the cool, glossy cover against his forehead, well, that’s entirely incidental.
Or, Mu Qing and Feng Xin try to survive exam week.

Summary
He gently knocks on the door, listening for any reaction from Feng Xin.
Silence.
He knocks again, thinking that maybe Feng Xin couldn’t hear him over the thunder.
Silence.
Mu Qing bites down on his lip hard enough to draw blood, and only realizes once he can taste it in his mouth.
“Feng Xin?” he tries, raising his voice, but not yelling, afraid to scare his boyfriend even more.
No reply comes from the other side.
“I swear, if you don’t open the door right now, I’m going to break it down!”
or, Feng Xin is afraid of storms. Mu Qing helps.
