Instead, Mobius went even stiffer, his breath hitching almost imperceptibly in his throat before he looked up at Loki with a frustratingly patient smile.
“I’ll be fine.”

Summary
Normally, he loved to be right. Right now, though, he hated it. He’d allowed his fondness for Mobius to get the better of him and let the agent flatter and sweet-talk him into proceeding with the mission without adequate preparation. For now, the best he could do was try to hold them off long enough for the other half of their team to close in on the variant—and then the sound of a pained cry pierced his heart.
In which Mobius gets hurt protecting Loki, and Loki has to figure out how to save him.
