She’d thought she was human until she’d hit puberty; her parents were human, and so were her grandparents, so why wouldn’t she be too? And then her first heat had come, and no less than seven vampires had been drawn to her childhood home, looking for a mate. They hadn’t left when her heat ended, either, instead harassing her parents and trying to buy her. Mates were rare, these days, and every vampire wanted one. Who cared if she wasn’t even of age for claiming yet? Not the creeps who wanted a regenerating blood bag to bear their pups.
